You most likely need to re-learn your idle control. Drive vehicle and computer will re-lean idle.

Why won't my truck start?

Are you pulling the arm all the way back up. If not, the ignition is still on and you could be draining the battery. also check the alternator, they can short out on the inside. The solenoid is on the right fender well, do you have the single wire on the correct post

Alarm on my 2002 F250 started going off all of a sudden while parked and unlocked. the only way I could make it stop was disconnecting the batteries. what's wrong with my truck?

First, take the battery out of your key fob. All of them. Then hook the battery back up on the truck. If alarm doesn't go off, put battery in one fob. Check it out, all functions. Then check the other one. If alarm goes off when you hook truck battery back up, look for a shorted switch to whatever you alarm monitors and sets an immediate alarm when the switch is closed (or opened). If you still can't locate the reason for the alarm, consider replacing the alarm system, but not before you come back here and tell us what happened.

1999 GMC Seirra fuel gauge and speed odometer stopped working

Yes, trace the wires fromt he high beam indicator light to ground.

Check for shorts in the wiring harness. This requires undoing the conduit, though which maybe should be left to an auto electric technician..

Also, if there is a short, it can be detected using an inductive ammeter around the positive or negative wire leading to the battery.

If it is above 0.2A then the system has a short somewhere.

Why does the battery drain down after not starting my truck for two to three days.battery and altenator tested good.what might be other problems?

The most likely culprit for battery drain is a short circuit in the system. In my experience, new stereo installations or short circuited lights are the the most likely source. Try going out to the vehicle after dark and see if there is a light under the dash board or if there is power being supplied to the stereo. If that does not prove fruitful, you may have to have the fuse panel screened by a qualified service technician to determine if there is power being supplied to a curcuit that is not designed to be powered after the ignition is switched off. If you had any new equipment added to your vehicle recently, I would start there.

My wife's 1995 Buick Regal has no power

Sounds like a dead cell/shorted battery. 3 years is a little soon but with the fact that you recently replaced the alternator, I would suspect that your battery is done! Even a weak battery will let you jump one, bad cables usually will let you jump one, but a shorted/bad celll in a battery will prevent them from taking a jump. good luck

I'm having the same problem. I have a 1992 Rodeo V-6 4x4. I replaced the alternator, battery, and even took out a killer stereo system in case of shorts (didn't have the patience to check). Except mine does start with a little boost. I'm thinking of replacing the battery for a bigger one, but not sure if that will take care of the problem. Help anyone?
