When a chrysler overdrive goes into second gear it indicates there is a problem There is no way to tell you what it needs. It has to be scanned to determine what is going on. There are input and output speed sensors, shift solenoids, PRNDL switch, neutral switch and improper clutch pack clearance internally as well as major internal failure.

Again it has to be scanned. Hope it is one of the speed sensor.. Just in case since they do fail often, the input speed sensor is located closer to the motor at 9 o'clock facing the back side of the trans and the output speed sensor is located near the back of the trans at the same position.

Hope this helps. (Auto Zone and Advance will usually scan for free.)

Where is crank shaft sensor in a 2000 crysler 300m

The crank sensor is actually on the bell housing. Right side, about midway down...about at horizontal. One plug, one bolt. When you replace it with a new one, make SURE to leave the paper piece on the business end of the sensor when you bolt it in. That protects the sensor from damage on the first turns of the reluctor wheel (the ones with the timing holes in it) that is attached to the flex plate. Take out the 10mm bolt. Then you may have some corrosion on it, so be firm and twist it clockwise and counterclockwise as you loosen it to take it out. Chrysler also has a funky locking system on electrical connections... either a red or green lock runs through the connector and must be pulled out, kinda like a paperclip before the plug can be released from the sensor. Otherwise an ABC removal and installation.
Good luck and keep the greasy side down.

My 300m is stuck in 2nd gear after changing the transnission twice

On the driver side of the transmission, there are two speed sensors. One monitors vehicle speed, and one uses info from the speed sensor to reference gear shift speed. Try replacing them before spending any big money. Its a do-it-yourselfer if you don't mind going under the car-they screw in. Be careful.

Coming home today, during the last 2 miles, the transmission would not shift into high gear. I checked the transmission fluid (I had run the shifter thru the gears, and had it in park (should it be in...

It shoul be in park and up to operating temp. to check the fluid. There is a sensor that tells the tranny when to change gears. Usually the problem with them is overdrive. If the the fluid isn't low I would take it to a reputable transmission repair shop and have the tranny computer scanned.

2000 300m shifts into 2nd gear and locks out all other gears. (limp mode) Changed speed odometer sensor, and have pulled #11 fuse, Checked wiring. battery cables removed for re~set. What else can be...

you replaced the output speed sensor, try replacing the input speed sensor, sometimes called the turbine speed sensor, thats where the computer gets the info to shift.

Will not move from 2nd gear help PLEASE?

Your transmission is in a "limp in" mode. There are 2 sensors that need replaced. Total cost should be less than $100. I had it happen to me on my 99 300m. The sensors limit the speed to about 25 mph and the RPM rev's high. Just get the sensors replaced.

2001 crysler 300 M

O2 sensor is located forward of the catalytic converter. You will need a 22mm wrench or O2 sensor socket to remove and reinstall.
