Hi,

Sometimes, these are too tricky to be found. As you have already checked the coil and the coolant sensor, the only other things that you need to check would be Speed Sensor in the Gearbox and TDC sensor. The computer would not give any Codes even though these would be at fault.

Let me know the update!!

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hi,

It's possible the gauge itself is inaccurate, it's quite common on ford contours (you're the third person this month with the same problem). As far as the fan cutting out-- the fan should stay running anytime the A/C is turned on. It should not cut out at any time. If the fan cuts out, refrigerant temperature will increase and so will pressure-- it would not drop as the technician said. I would be curious to see if the compressor is actually turning when the air becomes warm, or if it is just an issue with the fan. There are a number of things that could be going wrong-- without seeing the car in-person to see what is really happening it's going to be difficult to diagnose. As for why the fan would cut out-- it could be a control problem, wiring, a bad relay, bad ground circuit, or even too little refrigerant in the system.

Thank You for contacting Fixya.com

the engine coolant temp sensor that sends temp sensor signal to engine control module may be faulty/out of range, worth checking first of all.

1992 honda accord cuts off while driving or at idle when it reaches normal operating temperature

Possible bad coil/module, or any major sensor which fails as it heats up. These may test good when not hot.

Check engine light came on

What do you mean "can't find code"? If the check engine light is on, there is a fault code stored in your onboard computer - that's the way it works. If you are using a generic OBD code reader, that is most likely the reason you cannot find any codes. You need to use a scanner that has the correct software to access your ENTIRE computer network, not just the "continuous memory" or "generic" side of your computer system.

The window problem is a seperate problem and must be diagnosed accordingly.

Bought this car in January, everything was fine. now that the weather is hot, seems the fuel overheats and the car dies. Left to cool down, will run till it gets hot again.

Only way to really know is to test thing but the things that can do this are the fuel pump or relay. The crank sensor, the ignion module, the coil.

This is providing the coolant is not overheating. If the coolant is overheating then as the motor gets hotter,,less fuel will be added creating a possible stall. When an engine is shut off they usually get a little hotter by the sensors before they start to cool down.

Coolant Temp sensor

The coolant temperature sensor should read at approx 1,800 ohms between 68 and 88 degrees F. As the temperature lowers, the resistance rises. More ohms. As the temperature rises, the resistance lowers. Less ohms. At 210 degrees, the ohms would be about .15 K ohms.

The 89 and the 12 figures are wrong.
