It is very important that your air filter is clean. Let's say it is. When was the fuel filter last replaced?. The uphill thing usually means fuel filter. If you can't recall, have it replacd. pour what fuel that is in the filter out of the filter in reverse of normal flow and you ca see how much dirt comes out. Good Luck, Ned

How do i stop my 1994 ford explorer from sputtering and shutting down when driving at low speed

Not getting enough fuel. There are two coolant temperature sensors one for the gauge. one for the computer. the one to the computer monitors fuel. When it fails the engine is slow to start the first try and there is a strong odor of gasoline. The engine will run rough at some speeds and sometimes stall.

Why does my oil gauge vibrate when at a stop after driving freeway speeds, 2002 ford Ranger?

Factory gauges (especially Fords) are not known for being terribly accurate or reliable. As long as the gauge is pointed in the "normal" range, I wouldn't be too concerned.
If you want to pursue it, remove the oil pressure sending unit and perform an oil pressure test with a mechanical gauge. If the mechanical gauge fluctuates the same way, suspect a worn or failing oil pump. If the gauge is stable, I would suspect a faulty oil pressure sending unit.
If the truck has high miles, consider moving up to higher viscosity oil or adding an oil stabilizer. If could just be that the oil is breaking down when it's hot and the engine can hold consistent pressure with the thinning oil.

Ford diesel excusion A/C won't cool

Any performance testing re auto A/C requires consistant engine revs highway revs eg 1800 exit ramp eg idle stop start 800revs leading to much reduced A/C compressor speed and therefore performance output .Also all testing its desirable to close the bonnet to control design air flow through the engine bay .Also check under dash passenger side air flow pos a filter on return air duct or something sucked up into paper etc .good luck!

2003 Ford Exp. has consistently been sputtering while on the frway, thought it was my speed but now notice it does on reg rdways as well, any ideas?

Expeditions have had a lot of problems with there ignition systems, this is not something you can diagnose at home ... you need to get the truck hooked up to a engine analyzer so you can get to the bottom of the problem... truck may have recalls on the problem your having you can go to any of several websites and input your vin # to see what recalls are on your vehicle

i had a similar problem it turned out to be a faulty fuel pump. Any mechanic should be able to do a fuel pressure test. to rule this out
