Question about 1994 Volvo 850

1 Answer

My 1994 Volvo wagon started this morning and as I put into drive it just died. There is no power , no lights, radio etc. I played around with the starter wires and the clock did come on but once you turn the keyt the clock goes off and the car won't turn over. I just replaced the battery so I know its not that, any suggestions?

You need to check your engine wiring harness. 84 is part of the crumbling, corroding wiring insulation years. If your harness has not been replaced, you may have to really scrounge around to find one of the "new" versions that has okay insulation on the wiring.

Looking for information on a 1989 760 Volvo ignition modular, also the wiring diagram? My Volvo starts when it wants to and quits the same way. Have checked distributor, fuel system, etc but to no avail....

hi-
my 1989 760 turbo wagon died with no warning wednesday morning. it was running fine, i stopped at the post office for 5 minutes, and it wouldnt start. it still hasnt.
i found good information at this page:
http://www.k-jet.org/documents/greenbooks/700-series/
scroll down and there is a link to the greenbook ignition manual (incomplete, buy mostly there) http://www.k-jet.org/files/greenbooks/700/TP31397-1_700_ignition_incomplete.pdf , with excellent troubleshooting instructions if you're handy with electrical testers. there is also a link to the 760 wiring diagram manual http://www.k-jet.org/files/greenbooks/700/TP31075-1_760_wiring_diagrams.pdf. good luck!

I have a 1994 manual 4 door camry. it's running

look for vacuum leaks under the hood, or disconnected sensors, etc.

Do you have any engine codes on this vehicle?

Is it a 4 cyl. or 6 cyl. Toyota Camry?
What submodel (like LX, etc.)

Check to make sure the power /and or the ground wire was reconnected to your battery after they installed the new battery. Being a 94 someone my have installed a different radio other than the factory one. They may have ran a new wire to the battery.
I hope this helps.
