- replaced head gaskets starting over on this vortec engine the ac bracket and pump has to be removed so it has no serpentine belt. do you still suggest this method? used original method of taking out the valve lash then going one turn further but now have no compressionSolution #1

get it running, now loosen each rocker until it clatters, now tighten it down until the clatter stops, now go to the next one and all the way down. turn the engine off and go back and turn each rocker nut down 1/2 -3/4 of a turn. then do the other side. you are done.
