Get it running, now loosen each rocker until it clatters, now tighten it down until the clatter stops, now go to the next one and all the way down. turn the engine off and go back and turn each rocker nut down 1/2 -3/4 of a turn. then do the other side. you are done.

How do i replace the heater control valve in a 1998 chev.c1500 v6 pu

The heater control valve is located on the passenger side rear of the engine. It has a vacuum line hose that opens and closes the valve. Remove the vacuum line hose, start the engine with the temperature set to cold and see if there is any vacuum on the line. Then set the temperature to the HOT position and see if there is any vacuum on the line. Vacuum should be present on ONE setting only. If nothing happens check for proper vacuum to the control assembly. The valve is vacuum operated, if no vacuum is present the valve won't work.

Chevrolet Factory Service Bulletin OBDII Code P0507

What does this mean?

When is the code detected?

Thi P0507 code sets when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects an engine speed outside of the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve range of control.

Possible symptoms

- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

- Engine hard to start

- Rough or erratic idle speed

P0507 Chevrolet Description

The Idle Air Control (IAC) valve is a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controlled stepper motor located on the throttle body. The stepper motor drives a valve pintle which protrudes into a passage that bypasses the throttle plates. The PCM commands the IAC valve pintle to extend to decrease the idle speed. The bypass air flow is reduced and the idle speed decreases as the pintle approaches its seat. The PCM retracts the IAC valve pintle away from its seat to increase the idle speed. The retracting of the IAC valve pintle allows more air to bypass the throttle plates. One of the PCMs uses for the IAC system is to maintain a desired idle speed. This DTC sets when the PCM detects an engine speed outside of the IAC\'s range of control.

Possible symptoms

P0758 Chevrolet Description
The 2-3 Shift Solenoid (SS) valve controls the fluid flow acting on the 2-3 shift valves. The 2-3 SS valve is a normally-open exhaust valve that is used with the 1-2 SS valve in order to allow four different shifting combinations. The solenoid attaches to the control valve body within the transmission. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the solenoid by providing the ground path.

Valve removable diagram

Not sure what you are after but I'd suggest checking HTleads, spark plugs, coils or distributor before worrying about the valves.
The valves can be checked by having a compression test carried out.

Removing the cylinder head and playing with valves needs more than a diagram, you'll need torque setting and clearances, drive belt settings and special tools to mention but a few. it's a big job and not really for novices

You probably are getting carbon in the valve. It'll make the pintle stick and the code will set. I think it's just coincidence that you were in 4WD when it happens.
Take the valve off and clean the valve and passages.

2001 Chevrolet impala shifts hard

If you get it checked on the scanner chances are you will have a P1811 set in history. When this code sets it automatically turns pressure in the trans to max causing a hard shift. If your vehicle has low miles I would suggest the valve body and pc solenoid be replaced along with the trans filter.Have the filter changed first and inspect for debris in the pan.If debris is found.REBUILD the trans because if you just replace th solenoid and valve body it WILL happen again and the valve body/solenoid replacement is not cheap.
