Question about 2004 Nissan Sentra

1 Answer

I'm trying to figure out what level the power steering fluid should be at on My Nissan Sentra 2004 1.8. The manuel does not explain the fluid levels. There is a level that says Cold - Min and then there is a middle mark that says "Max" and then a top line that says Hot - Max. What level is it suppose to be at? The middle line or the top "Hot - Max" line?

As long as its in the middle, you are OK. I would put it to the MAX level when its cold (middle)

I'm having a problem with my 2004 Chevrolet Impala (3.8 Engine).

The fact that you have to add fluid suggests that the pump has run dry, and been damaged. You are going to have to fix the leak and replace the pump.

2002 nissan sentra 1.8L steers hard to the right and the left no apparent signs of a leak what are my options for the problem power steering pump is not making noise

Have a competent shop look at your steering rack. They go bad without leaking, internal seals go bad and don't hold constant pressure.

It sounds like you are having a problem with your power steering system. Check that the power steering pump has fluid to the recommended level. Also check that the power steering belt has not broken.

Yes it is as easy as it looks. If you had the tire off and figured out that it looks easy, you shouldn't have much problem.

Power steering reservoir for 2008 Nissan Sentra 2.0 S

I had this question initially. However, the Nissan Sentra (starting in 2007) has an electric Power Steering. It DOES NOT need any power steering fluid. The electric power steering is suppose to give you better fuel efficiency and lower maintenance cost.
