Question about 2000 Nissan Altima
If it works and put it on 3 or 4 it will stop blowing cold air and the compressor kicks off. Sometimes if it doesnt work you can turn the blower switch with button AC on about 20-30 times fast it will work but most of the time it wont. After that it will not work again for several hrs. When it does work it is ice cold. If it works and you turn the car off and crank up again IT WILL NOT WORK. I have took it to 2 AC shops to charge the system, it is full. I almost crossed the center lane into another car coming home from work Tuesday in the ATL rain storm because the defroster didnt work. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! Thx So Much!!!!
Electrical issue or pressure switch is faulty. May have too much refrigerant in the system, but not likely if 2 shops have looked at it. If there is too much in the system, the pressure will get too high and the pressure switch will turn the compressor off until it comes back down.

check the thermo control amp, it is a sensor that keeps the evaporator from freezing. I had that problem on my 2000, it's a common nissan problem, google nissan ac problems.

i have the same problem. its ether your cut out switch or the clutch switch. the clutch switch will make the a/c compressor cut on and off.

1st thing I would do is have your thermostat checked at a rebutable rad shop also somtimes the rad cores get blocked and will not circulate the heat properly either problem can be rectified at the rad shop...good luck
