AC unit causes carpet to get wet

Whenever I run my airconditioner, the carpet on the drivers side gets very wet. Is there a drain hose or something that may be clogged that I could open up.

Yes the A/C condensate drain is probably cloged up. I have not worked on a Montana but if you look at another GM mini van with the A/C on and the condensation driping out the bottom you can see where the drip comes from.
I hope this helps you.

Ac drain clogged

You probably have a clogged A/C drain which is causing water to collect under the blower motor under the dash on the passenger side. I had the same problem and the dealership was useless. Apparently, there is not a single place on the internet that will tell you where the A/C drain hose is located inside the cabin. Look for a vent on the driver side center console next to the accelerator pedal. Remove the vent you will see a thick rubber hose running into the floor. Remove the hose and be ready to catch the overflow. Use a compressor to blow out the hose and the connection on the floor. You should hear the air rushing out under the car if you have done this correctly. This will probably solve your leak. I really hope this works because I was unable to find this solution anywhere on the internet or forums.

Hi thank you in advance for your response. I have

I can only give you what happened to me. Is the passenger side front carpeting wet or has it been wet in the past? If so, remove the carpeting/insulation on the passenger side (remove passenger seat as well). Find the wiring harness that runs under the carpet and connects to the car's computer (which is under the passenger's seat). Look for corrosion at the electrical connector and replace if necessary. Also inspect the harness for wear through causing a ground. I had lots of problems with my Daewoo until I found that issue. I would up replacing the electrical connector going into the computer and more problems! I hope this helps. In addition, you need to remember that the defrosters and AC generate moisture which collects in a little drip pan underneath the heater. There is a drain hose that routinely gets clogged which causes the carpeting inside on the passengers side to get wet. Fix that drain line - replace with a larger diameter hose if possible. I blow mine out regularly using compressed air.

My floor is getting wet on passengers side when ac is on?

The A/C drain is plugged. The drain hose is located in the engine compartment down low on the fire wall, most likely on the passanger side. You can crawl under the Durango and look for the drain and clean it out with a screw driver or coat hanger, what ever you have available.
Once you have got it clean, run the garden hose on the windshield and you should see water coming out of the drain. No more wet carpet.
Good luck.

it sounds like the drain hole for the condenser is clogged and the water is pooling up and overflowing out of the vent and spilling over onto the carpet. you need to un clog the drain hole. if you look behind the passange wheel and under neath the car you will see a black hose leading up and into your fire wall run a long semi flexible wire or like and un clog it do not jam it in to far or too hard you dont want to put a hole in the condencer but when you get through you will get a rush of water that should pour out

Front passenger side carpet getting wet

The AC evaporator units have a drain hose that runs through the floor because condensed moisture is a fact of life with AC units. Yours is plugged. You will have to get under the vehicle and look for the hose where it comes out, then take like coat hanger wire and clean it out, It is somewhere in the vicinity of where the passenger foot well meets the fire wall. If you have to raise the vehicle to get under it, make certain you have it safely supported. If you don't have the stuff, drive the passenger side wheels up on a good curb and use some cardboard to slide under.

Wet on Passenger side floor when AC is on

Auto ac units have an outside drain for the condensation. If you ever noticed a car running and it looks like it's leaking something on a hot day it's the condensed water from the ac unit draining. What you have is a clogged or disconnected drain hose.
You need to find the hose and drain and reconnect them. Sounds simple, good luck.

Wet drivers side front floor and rear right floor

It's probably a blocked a/c drain line. The condensation can't drain out because the hose is blocked w/ 'goop', U should be able to locate the drain hose in the passenger area, front seat about where your feet would be, middle of pass area. U can either blow air thru it to clear it, or from under the car, locate the end of the hose and with a small wire, gently run it up the hose to clear obstruction. The carpet padding is like a sponge, so the moisture is probably wicking to the rear area from underneath.
Newer cars run in the a/c mode whenever heat or defrost is on, even though u don't turn on the a/c. Let me know how u make out.

Interior Carpet Getting Wet

It sounds like a plugged drain line from the air conditioner. Most cars now run in the a/c mode whenever u turn on the climate control (even when heat is on). The passenger side front is where it would be wet, and the carpet and carpet pad act like a sponge and will soak up the water. Let me know how u make out.
