How do I replace the mirror insert on the sideview

How do I replace the mirror insert on the driver sideview mirror of my 2002 Chevy Suburban Z71? (the mirror shakes while driving)

The mirror sits on a circular clip if u push against the middle it might click into place if not turn mirror all the way in towards the right so u have finger room stick hand behind mirror and pull forward will release keep hold if it if you have heated mirror disconnect the two wires

If the glass and the backing behind is is loose a replacement mirror will be needed. The door panel inside the car will have to be removed and it is no fun job for a woman. Call around to different body shops for they will have a lower rate than a dealer to repair it

I would think that the neutral safety switch is bad. It's bolted to the driver side of the transmission. Also check the wiring going to it.

look in thhe frame under the driver door with in a few feet you will find it if not its in the tank

first always check your fuses then if you have a autozone take it there and they can tell you what the code is and if you want to try it yourself they will give you instructions and print outs of where and how to do your job

Sounds like you have a short somewhere in the seat wiring. Check wiring under the seat for shorts.

Sideview Mirror Replacement


Try either an open end wrench or 1/4" drive socket, possibly 10 mm or 12 mm ( metric ) . Forget using needlenose pliers. Hope this helps

inside the car u remove the plastic behind mirror assembly to acess bolts some cars require removing door panel 2 but most likey u can just remove the triangular plastic piece with panel on door

the mirror u bought is wrong for sure. some side view mirror are HEATED that's why the prong/plug is different.
