Ok thats alot better,If it works ok,release and engauges, then look at the clutch spring on the clutch pedal,if it has come off, repair or replace,if not,and the spring is attached, but will not pull the pedal back up,look at replacing the clutch master, look under the hood,on drivers side, the clutch pedal will have a rod on it that goes threw the floor(firewall)and to the master. It really doesn`t need the spring to bring the pedal back up,the pressure of the master should do this.Look at replacing the master to fix the problem.

I need a clutch disc and lift cylinder for a gray market Sato ST 2000. What will fit or where can I find parts for this tractor please. Thanks

clutch disc or clutch plates are determined by several things
over haul diameter
spline size
no of splines
solid center;
spring loaded center light 4 spring of light spring material
spring loaded center heavy---6 or 8 springs of thick spring material
full face linings --asbestos or like material
button linings --normal a brass compound
So now knowing all of this all you have top do is take the existing plate along to a specialist brake and clutch shop and they will be able to match up a replacement plate as equipment manufacturers use generic clutches suitable to their engineering requirements
best advice is to always replace the clutch as an assembly because there is high heat generated in a clutch operation and that affects the tension quality of the spring steel used in the springs of the pressure plate
as for a lift cylinder , any professional hydraulic engineering shop will be able to repair/replace or manufacture what you want
again your cylinder as a sample is a big advantage when replacing something

I did the clutch and now there is a shudder when pulling away and in between gear shifting. Please help

Did you put in a rebuilt clutch or a brand new one?
Shudder is usually weak clutch disc torsion springs.
Rebuilt discs may have weak torsion springs on the clutch disc while new clutch disc torsion springs should be "new" and should not cause clutch shudder.
One other cause can be broken or damaged motor mounts.

White smoke coming out of tail pipe and clutch goes to floor. What would cause this?

white smoke indicates[ steam ] that your burning coolant either by a blown headgasket ---intake gasket--cracked/warped head--cracked cylinder wall--check your coolant level should by low ----------clutch dont know type yr or model of vehicle so dont know if your clutch is hydraulic or dry older style spring --hydro style anything from slave gone bad to fork damage ---old style broken spring to fork damage throw out bearing damaged

My Nissan 95 sentra clutch had crunched and pedal would not spring back, found that clutch cable had snapped, replaced this and now my clutch pedal is still not 100% springing back, it springs back en

Check the spring to see if it has snapped anywhere within it's coil.

Remove the cable and check operation of the pedal and spring mechanism.
If all is well, then with a lever, check that the clutch release arm on the gearbox is operational. If that is also sticking, then you will have to remove the gearbox to investigate further.
If not sticking, then also remove the clutch cable outer sleeve, and replace.

Dodge 2500 2001 clutch chatter

the problem may have been in the damper spring setup in the clutch plate
it the clutch plate was a standard plate , it would have had 4 damper coil springs but the last plate fitted may have been a heavy duty plate that would have had 5 or 6 damper springs
if the springs are of insufficient tension then there is a grabbing action during clutch engagement but with more springs and different tensions that is overcome and the action is a smooth clutch application
manufacturers that have design faults quickly change the design as clutch shops are fussy when it comes to rework so I would think that it is not the clutch but an incorrect plate for the application

I have a 91 yota pickup with the 22re. It is a 5 speed manual, over the last couple days i have started noticing a noise which is now much louder and more pronounced, at first i thought it was suspension...

These year models are known for fatigue crack on the upper clutch pedal bracket. This bracket is welded to the dash frame and holds the cluth pedal. To inspect, use a flashlight and point upward illuminating the steel plate. Use your other hand to press on the clutch pedal while observing for plate movement or cracks on the plate itself. If the plate has a crack, its allowing the entire clutch pedal to swivel reducing cylinder and slave travel. If damaged, it must be welded with additional metal plates for increase strength.

Volvo S40 :clutch pedal spring

The spring broke on my S40 clutch pedal too.
The old spring looks like a modified volvo part since none of the S40 clutch pedal springs at Volvo spares looks exactly the same as the one that broke. The one that broke looks similar to the replacement part that I bought, but one can clearly see that the old one was cut shorter at the other end and bent over to make it fit onto the clutch pedal mechanism. This is absolutely pathetic. I am taking it to Volvo to fix their rubbish themselves - and then they are still going to charge me R750 ($100) to replace a stupid spring! By the way, Volvo always wants the vehicle VIN number when buying spares because some of their cars (of the same year and model) use different parts - CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS! By the way, I am replacing the spring to pull the pedal all the way back - otherwise if I start the car in the mornings then the pedal is nearly on the floor when the car starts moving. If I pull the pedal back with my foot , then all is back to normal. I am scared that I may have no clutch after some time - so I will rather replace it.

Clutch

it is a hydraulic clutch system, especially on the 89 prelude. I have one the exact year model, and i had a hole in the slave cylinder hose going to the transaxle from the slave cylinder.

To refill the reservior, use DOT 3 brake fluid. The reservoir is located just to the left of the brake fluid reservoir underneath the hood on the driver's side firewall. you can't miss it.
