Question about 1997 Dodge Ram
Replace the solenoid, the device that actually pushes the door lock up and pulls it down.
That would be my first guess and its fairly simple to do, hope this help.

Your most likely will have to remove the door panel-to examine the likage and relays that are also part of the inside of panel-thats the starting point-also power actuaters have known to go out-located and pop riveted to the panel frame.
