2005 linclon towncar - why will the ac clutch not engage

check the pressures in the system, if they are low it will not engage, it could be a bad connection for the compressor, check the compressor clutch air gap and clutch condition as this can cause a problem.

I can't locate the air supension compressor on a linclon town car 1998

It is located under the air cleaner/Filter on the driver's side, under the hood, near the front. Remove the filter and the filter plastic case. I has two or three screws. I believe they are 1/2". You have to look closely to find the one near the front and will have to have an extension rod for a 3/8' drive. When you remove the case you will see it. It has one or two plastic vacuum lines running to it. The lines are quick disconnect and have to be pushed in and the flange around the line will have to be held in and then pull the line out. Hope this helps. CMSgt Smith

Just put a new compressor on my 1996 Lincoln and put refrigerant in it however it is still only blowing out hot air. It is getting cold because there is water dripping from the bottom(condensation). For...

when you installed the compressor you need to install new dryer and orrifice tube. when you recharge the system you need to put it under vacuum for 30 min. and recharge with proper amount of refrigerant and oil. also feel the lines and look for frost, if there is any excessive amount of frost then there is a restriction in that area

Back end of my 2001 Ford Expedition FWD, Eddie Bauer, was dragging. Had diagnostic test run and found out it needed a new air ride compressor. Had compressor installed, but compressor continues to run...

The compressor should only run until the rear suspension reaches the desired height. If it continues to run after the suspension has raised to ride height then you may have a leaking air bag/solenoid or line. If you dont have any leaks it is possible the EVO(air suspension module} or relay is at fault.

2000 Chevy Cavalier making a noise when air is shut off

This problem sounds like the aircompressor pully, the bearing is shot.
With the engine running and the air conditioner off there is a grinding noise, look at the compressor pully, does it wobble? Then turn on the air conditioner and the noise stops, look at the compressor pully again, the wobble stops? If so that's the problem.

The air compressor is making a loud noise and the "shop" tells me i need to replace the compressor because all the belts need it. I don't need the a/c, which doesn't seem to matter with this repair. Do I...

usualy the front berring goes out of those and yes it is loud. just find one off a low milage vehical at a junkyard have it installed just dont have it charged or pluged in than the pully will be there for the belt to ride on but the air conditioning will not work. a used one will save a lot of money. charging the system is also very expensive. but all in all yes you need it becaus the one belt runs power steering altinator a/c watter pump.

1996 cadillac deville compressor stopped, new compressor and dryer put on, but unit will not accept freon. Please help.

Sometimes, you have to start the vehicle, turn on the AC (Hi setting), and jump across (bypass) the low side pressure switch - to allow the compressor to start running and draw the freon in through the low side - make sure your fittings are correct and otherwise - Did you pull a vacuum on the system before you attempted to add refrigerant? I would highly recommend it - removes air and moisture....

Air conditioning 1996 Ford Explorer

You were not clear, but I assume the compressor runs OK. If not, troubleshoot the electrical to the compressor. Did you replace the orifice tube while it was discharged for service? If not, then check the pressures. If low side pressure is high the tube might be plugged, especially if you truly had a bad compressor. In a properly working system the line should be cold on the evaporator side of the orifice tube when properly charged. If compressor runs, system properly charged and that line is warm then suspect a plugged tube.
