Horrible engine knock when stepping on the gas

My sons car has a horrible engine knock when he starts the car and steps ont he gas. Has not been driven since he heard the noise yesterday. I suspect a bad rocker arm or valve. Can I remove that spark plug wire to keep the cylinder from firing and drive it 1 mile to the garage? Please advise and thanks

Yes you can but no gaurantees. Probably best pull the plug and see if you don't just have a blown out injector first. It can be a fuel knock. Good Luck, ned

Check for oil pressure.Check the compression in each cylinder.
Yank the valve cover to see if the camshaft is actually turning during cranking mode, only.
Disable the fuel pump or disable the spark(fuel disable preferred)
The engine may have "eaten" something it shouldn't.
A valve may be broken off inside the cylinder head.
Usually an exhaust valve.

ALWAYS START WITH CHECKING FLUID LEVELS AND CONDITIONS.THIS ENGINE SHOULD BE A NISSAN BUILT V6 OVERHEAD CAM DRIVEN BY A TIMING BELT.ENGINE BEARING FAILURE NOISES USUALLY INCREASE WITH ENGINE RPM.IF STARTED IS SUSPECT THEN FIND SOME MEANS OF ROTATING ENGINE AT FRONT CRANK PULLEY,GRABBING LOWER PULLEY BY HAND AND TURNING OR SOCKET ON CRANK PULLEY CENTER RETAINING BOLT.IF ENGINE CAN BE TURNED IN THIS MANNER THEN THERE IS MOST LIKELY AN INTERNAL ENGINE FAILURE.IF IT DOES TURN OVER THEN LOOK CLOSELY AT STARTER OPERATION.

Flashing light issue/ a/c issue

What flashing light ? Check engine ? You either have a bad engine misfire that could lead to a destroyed catalytic converter . Or a problem with Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System. The A/C making a horrible noise , the A/C only has two moving parts the compressor an the compressor clutch coil , your compressor is locking up an you hear the serpentine belt . You'll burn up the serpentine belt . Your to vague in you posting suggest you take it to a qualified repair shop .

I am getting horrible gas mileage... engine dieing

Look for a hole or leak in your air intake tube first, then do a basic tune up...plugs/rotor/air filter/dizzy cap (if needed) and inspect vacuum lines for cracks......these would be the most common causes of your problem

Horrible misfire and knock

0300 is a mis fire. Explains the fried wire. Were all the plugs changed?? If not, definately change the one on the fried wire. Possible burnt cylinder. Does it fire/start right away cold?? If not, it could be the coil. Start by checking spark in all your wires and plugs. This will isolate your issue hopefully.
