Yes, but the PINCH BOLT is really going to a problem getting it out.

Go to www.passatworld.com and search pinch bolt for suggestions.

Can a tye rod end make clicking sound when u turn if there bad

No, but a CV Joint can. The (constant velocity) joint is on the end of each drive axle where it enters the wheel. It allows for the turning and up and down movement of the wheels, while still transmitting power from the transmission. When they go bad from wear, lack of grease, etc., they will make a clicking sound during turning. You are hearing the "outer CV joint" on one of your front wheels.

A replacement is not that expensive as a part. You can buy a new drive axle with remanufactured CV Joints on both ends of it for less than $100. Installing one is a bit of a chore, so if you pay someone to do it, it will take about 3 hours labor. Plus it is recommended to have a front end alignment done after any front end work. The wheel and hub has to be partially dismantled to remove the drive axle.

What is the correct name for the front drive shaft after the two CV joints that houses a spider assy slide joint/coupling on one end and the engine drive train?

That is just the end of the CV axle. There is a boot that keeps it mounted to the spider bearings. When you buy the axle, it will come with this part attached. The bearing may be optional though.

How to replace a cv joint

I can tell you how to replace the CV joint but it is by far better to just buy a re-manufactured axle. The price of the CV joint itself then the labor to remove the axle, change the joint and install it is a big pain. Changing just the CV joint is labor intensive and you could run in to problems. Don't risk it, but a rebuilt.

Replace axle but not cv joints

"What we have here is a failure to communicate". The axle comes with CV joints on the end. You will be buying the rebuilt assembly. Both axle and CV joints will refer to the same part in a front wheel drive application.

I think the front-right CV joint may be going out on my 2003 Solara SLE (it makes a funny noise when I turn the car while I am driving, but not from a complete stop). What would be the least expensive...

If it is the CV joint (and it does sound like it is), the least expensive option will be to replace the CV joint. This is really the only solution available, but the popping or funny noises can also indicate other worn parts such as struts, shocks, tire rod ends, and even the rack and pinion in your steering system. I would check all of this before going through the aggravation of replacing the CV joint.

How to replace a CV joint 2000 Cavalier Drivers side

Buy the right CV axle. Raise right front of vehicle. Remove wheel. use a lugnut and washers to secure brake rotor so that it is not flopping and trapping rust behind. Remove axle nut. Loosen nuts from outer tie rod end stud and lower ball joint stud almost all the way off, but do not remove them completely. Seperate the studs from knuckles by striking each knuckle with a ball peen hammer. After the tie rod and lower ball joint are seperated from the spindle knuckles, pry down on lower control arm and push end of axle through hub toward transaxle until hub and spindle assembly is free from axle/CV joint. Place drain pan under transmission. Carefully place pry bar between innner CV joint and transmission and pop axle assembly loose. Install new axle in reverse of the dissassembly.

Is the cv joint part of the axle assemble on a 2003 volvo s80

Hi,
On the the rear of the car they are part of the axle, on the front of the car the CV joints are connected to the steering rack/rods.
They are located directly behind each wheel like this >>>>>>
