Question about 2000 Dodge Durango
The 'service engine' light is a generic 'fault light' and also can indicate a recommended 'service procedure' that may be due. Like the 36 thousand mile service. Take your car by the dealer or one of the auto parts stores and have them use the 'code reader' to see if there are any 'fault codes' indicating a problem. They have a little hand held micro processor that plugs right into the cars computer chip that holds all the stored faults that turn the light on.
