Try putting some HEET gas treatment in your tank, sounds like water in your gas to me, also put in some seafoam gas treatment, it is the best thing on the market...

1. Check coolant level and then do an actual temp check of the coolant once the thermostat has opened your checking to see if it is opening).
(if coolant level was really low, monitor it every day for a week of driving -- need confirm not loosing it inside the engine)
2. Replace fuel filter.
3. Verify fuel pump is working properly.
4. Ensure fuel lines are not touch hot engine/exhaust parts (this percolates the fuel).
5. Run fuel injector cleaner (concentrated for 2 tanks) Use premium gas for one tank.
6. replace spark plugs (first if you have not for some time)
(check spark wires (no more than 50 ohms resistance) Replace if greater)

I PUT A NEW HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP IN MY 6.0 2003 POWERSTROKE IT RAN GOOD FOR TWO WEEKS THEN STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AND THEN DIED

Ford had a lot of problems with this engine. Most diagnosis requires a factory software scanner or one that can interface with the FICM module (fuel injector control module) Now you can perform injector buzz test and glow plug tests. If you can get running then also do a power balance test these test check fuel injectors statically and dynamically with the common rail oil pressure control sensor. These FICM modules are famous failure parts. Napa auto can get them.

04 Dogde Durango temp light keeps coming on

i would start with the thermostant it may be sticking but also if this has electric cooling fan then there may be a problem with the fan, i think if a thermostant was bad that driving fast would just make it overheat more, but a bad fan would cause this affect because when driving the air is cooling the radiator, also make sure the coolant is full as this could also cause the symptom, hope this helps, also to change the thermostant and bleed the system i would have some shop do this it is very tight spot to get bolts out and then clean surface for new gasket,

1997 f150 starts runs ruf temp spikes dies turn key off 30sec sta

Just had a similar issue with my 1995.. started with replacement of the thermostat.. that didn't help. Turns out it's apparently the fan-clutch. Essentially, when there is stress on the engine (driving), the fan actually cuts off and makes it run hot... and my F-150 doesn't like to run hot - starts running rough as well. I'd still start with the thermostat since it's a cheap part and easy to get to.

How do i trouble shoot the glowplugs on a 1999 powerstroke

you test the resistance of each glow plug, they should all be about the same resistance, if u find any that are way off from the others then chances are they are defective. Have u considered going to constant duty glow plugs? they last far longer and are cheaper in the end.

Hard start when cold, running rich, poor fuel economy

Chrysler has a bulletin out for a simular condititon that involves replacing the pcm. Heres the bulletin number 18-005-04. This is only 1 possible cause , Fuel pressure, coolant temp sensor, thottle position sensor all can cause like problems. Seeing sensor values and fuel adaptives with a scan tool helps pin point problems.
