What is the proper kind of transmission fluid for a transmission change?

Mitsubishi would love for you to use their oil, lololol. In reality, the proper oil is the oil rating needed. I usually use a good name brand oil and be sure it is that SPIII ATF I guess. I use Hypoid GL4 manual transmission oil which also can go into the rearend too if needed. If replacing the trany oil, be sure to dump the old oil and clean the magnet located on the drain bolt when you dump it. By the way, I use the oil I mentioned in an 86 Mitsubishi mighty max 5 speed. I use the 80-90wt. Might need to warm it up before pumping it into the tranny. Don't over or under fill the trany too.

Best way change oil pump in 1999 dodge durango

You have to remove the oil pan. It is different for 2wheel drive and 4 wheel drive. In either case, you have to jack up and support the engine. Most of the time you must also remove the transmission rear mount so you can jack up the transmission also in order to get enough clearance to get the pan out between the transmission bell housing and the frame crossmember.

On 4X4 vehicles, you must also first remove the skid plates and the front drive axle to get the oil pan off.

Has a noise in front end also wont shift into low, second or overdrive.

SOUND PROBLEM IN TRANSMISSION OIL PUMP OR TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER.SINCE YOU NEED BOTH OF THEM EITHER ONE MALFUNCTION THERE WILL BE NO LOW DRIVE GEAR OR OVER DRIVE.MAKE SURE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL NOT LOW. IF ALL LOOKS GOOD. YOU CAN CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND CHANGE FILTER FIRST TO SEE IF HELPS ANY. IF NOT TAKE TRANSMISSION TO SHOP.THEY NEED TO RUN OIL PUMP PRESSURE TEST TO SEE IF OIL PUMP BAD.

I need to replace the transmission fluid in my 1999 isuzu rodeo 4 wheel drv...auto trans.....6 cylnder....it is supposed to be done at the dealership....but i want to know if i can do it myself....ive been...

With an automatic transmission you will have to drop the transmission pan and replace the pan gasket and filter on the pick-up tube. You will not however drain all the oil out. In order to drain and chage all oil you will need a machine that the dealer or any oil change shop has. If you have a quick lube place nearby they will ussually change the trans oil for $75

Why does my 1999 manual transmission chevy S-10 oil gauge go up and down as I drive?

normal - pressure drops off at idle and increases as engine speeds up.

Where do I add transmission fluid on a manual 1999 dodge avenger?

On cars with a manual transmission, there is one and sometimes two removable bolts near the bottom of the transmission (underneath the car) If it has two bolts then the bottom bolt will need to be removed to drop the old fluid out...after all of the fluid (most of the time it is 80W-90 gear oil but sometimes it could be regular motor oil (dependes on the make and model of the car) is removed then seal up the bottom bolt and openthe top bolt and fill it back up (check your owners manual to see how much oil it will need to refill it)...If there is only one removable bolt then open it, drain it all out, and using a hand pump (sold at most auto stores) pump the gear oil or motor oil (check your owners manual for the specs) back into the hole and when the fluid starts to run out of that hole, quickly reseal it to lock the fluid inside the transmission...make sure you wear gloves and safety glasses to keep the oils off your skin
