stalls , moving, only. at stop lights or between gears.
but never just parked idling.
if its random , that would be the EGR valve sticking open.
if EFI , bad idle switch.
if Carb bad dash pot. on carb.

MC2100 carb was given to me for use on an 1973 AMC Hornet with a 258 I6. The carb does not have a PCV nipple, so I need to drill one.

Instead of drilling into the carb and risk ruining it I would drill a hole in the side of the air breather and attach the PCV hose there. That's where it used to go and you can get a foam filter for it at any auto parts store that will hold it in place. This is how it used to be routed. Hope this helps.

Need info on belt and pully alignment for 1983 amc 258 with a/c and can the ac unit pully system be bypassed

The a/c can be bypassed. When you go to the auto parts store tell them you want the belts for that engine without a/c. They can look it up in a book and get a part number that will give you the right belts. Hope this helps.

Rebuilding a 1981 AMC 258 motor - Need modification advice

Depends how much of a power increase you want. For street use I would buy a header, carb and intake, cam, lifters and valve springs, in that order. Upgrade theignition if you can afford it. More (higher numerically) gear in the differential will work wonders! I'd suggest something in the mid 3's. 3.55, etc. Keep the shift point under 6000 rpm. I drag race a 72 Gremlin with a 401, so if you need any more AMC help, let me know.

Have a 1979 cj7 cant find a flywheel with right bolt pattern the motor is a amc 360 but a flywheel from a 360 has a differnt bolt pattern than mine any help please

are you sure you have an amc 360 and not a 304 and also are you sure the flywheel came from an amc 360 and not a chevy 350? A 350 will bolt directly in place of the 360. You might also try a 350 flywheel.

4.0 in to a 84 grand wagoneer

There shouldn't be any welding involved. The 4.0 is a detuned 4.2 due to fuel injection.
