Question about 2000 GMC Yukon

1 Answer

At about 4000 RPM the check engine light flashes and there is hesitation. The read out says misfire in #3. I have a 2000 GMC Yukon, During regular speeds it is fine. There also seams to be a hesitation or sticks before the gear shifts dropping the RPMS. Seamed to loose power on hills or when towing camper.

Your catylatic converter may be clogged if your loosing power or top speed is less than it was. You can check this when its running with a battery operated infared heat gauge. the temperature of the muffler should be around the same temp. as the catylatic converter.

2002 GMC Yukon XL flashing check engine lite

Hello
When the service engine soon light (Also called the check engine light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that Powertrain Control Module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.

2002 Yukon Hesitation when starting- No checking engine lights!!

This can be fuel pump related or just fuel filter related, spark plugs and injectors.
When engine is cold vaporization of gasoline is minimum. When fuel vapor is less than required and the fuel mixture is not ideal, ignition happens harder than it does under ideal running conditions of engine. When fuel pups is sweak, or filter is limiting, or fuel injectors are not injecting gasoline with improper pattern inside engine, or just becasue of corroded spark plugs, cold engine faces difficulties during first ignition.

PS: sometimes car starts and stalls.it fails to start once more. this can be a sign of broken crank position sensor. FYI.

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger XLT pickup. During the holiday the truck sat idle for seven days. When I started it up again, the check engine light came on and truck would shudder while idling. And when I press...

The flashing engine light gives it away, it has a engine misfire. It needs to be checked with a scantool to see which cyl is misfiring, then see what is causing it, bad coil, injector, ect.

When 1999 yukon is cold the check engine light flashes when I push the gas pedal

the flashing check engine light means the truck was misfiring at the time of the incident .If the light is still on you can go to auto zone they will pull the codes for you and reset the light if you like.but if running good now then probably nothing to worry about. However, go ahead and pull a couple of plugs and see what they look like. Autozone can tell you which one was misfiring when they pull codes.

Shuddering at 400 rpm

if the engine light is flashing it means that i could be a misfire or a emission problem and its big enough to damage your catalytic converter.
