have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold as your problem may have been the regulator in the manifold.

You need to stop driving it at all and get it to a transmission shop. You have serious problems.

1991 montero misfire and not idling correctly, why?

bad gas could have clogged the filter, fuel pump screen, or injectors, other that that check the distributor, plug wires, and spark plugs to ensure they are getting spark. if all thats fine then look at the timing, and if all else fails investigate the sensors

When sitting there or after driving and coming 2 a red light or stop sign it acts like its going 2 stall or die i took it 2 autozone put it on the check engine reader and they said it was the EGR value

EGR valve controls the amount of gas to oxygen ratio. this is a must to keep the car running smooth. to much or to little of either will make it run rough or sputter. you need to take it to a mechanic and have it replaced. it is an inexpensive part and labor shouldnt be to much either.

1999 dodge durango is hard to start. Starts with rough idle with some backfire, then idles smooth. after sitting idle for a minute it will act as if wanting to stall on takeoff! Have changed the fuel pump...

FIrst have you tried giving the engine a tune up (ie replaced the spark plugs)

Also you need to check the condition of all the vacumn lines on the engine loss of vacumn can cause poor idling.
