Question about GMC C3500
Yes it cane be done, but i wouldnt do it that way, because you're shorting out the PCM when you do that, and it will eventually damage the unit, and i can promise you, you DONT want to buy a new one. your best bet is to reset the computer the old fashioned way, by removing the battery for about 30 minutes and turning the key on to the start position for about 2 minutes. then turn the key off and, close the doors, and reconnect the battery. if this method doesnt work (75/25) then you might invest in a cheap diagnostic tester....you can find these at any autozone or NAPA, and they start at about $25. the book for the tester will tell you how to go about clearing the PCM. this way you will have the peace of mind that you're not risking frying the PCM, and you're doing it the right way, no offense.
if you insist on shorting out the fuse block, then you run a jumper wire from one side of the PCM fuse connector to the other side of it, and then use another jumper wire to ground it out to the best ground source you can find....you'll want to hold it there for about 60 seconds, and if you dont hear a tick or see a small spark, then you havent done it right, and should turn the key ON. bear in mind, you're taking a chance on blowing some other fuses too, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.

What do you mean "reset" sometimes taking the power away does not do anything. if it has codes, it will need to be "cleared" with a scan tool. try unhooking the battery it MAY work, but I wouldnt hold my breath.
