Buy a wiring harness, they are easy to install and will tell you exactly what wires to connect where. while you're at the store buy a crimp set, 100 times better then using electric tape and easier then soldering.

If bumps affect the noise then you should be looking at loose wires and connections for the speakers and at the back of the system. Look for a bad earth or the earth wire connected up to something that is not really a good earth

1998 sunfire installed stereo and now dash lights and tail lights blowing fuse

Get a wiring harness connector for your 1998 GM car - THEN carefully follow each wire color on the harness. Do NOT connect anything to the GM orange wire except "Memory". Do NOT connect anthing to the harness for "Lights" or "Dash" or "DIM" - you will blow fuses. Only connect the Power, the memory and the speakers - period. Then you'll be safe.

No power to drivers side door...also when the key is left in the ignition and the car is off there's no dinging and the stereo doesnt stay on...Ive checked all of the fuses and nothing seems to be blown......

I'm going to start by saying I'm not an expert, but it sounds as though a wire or a couple wires going to the door could be cut or tweaked, and for the ding, could be a short.
