Steering wheel "shimies"

The steering wheel shimies or floats back & forth while driving, especially at slow speeds. Advice appreciated!

How slow?? parking lot slow? if so you have a front tire coming apart, have them checked ASAP.

My 2002 sunfire is stuck in park.Also the key is getting stuck in the ignition. Appreciate any advice.


rock steering wheel back and forth, while turning the key, rock vehicle back and forth to take pressure off transmission shifter. are you parked on any kind of up or down hill grade? if so, that's the problem. start using emergency brake before putting in park.

At 50mph vibration starts from underneath vehicle and throughout interior. Steering wheel does not shimy, Vibration persists at all engine speeds as well as in nuetral irregardless of road surface. Have...


try this, do not drive car just sit and let it idle. raise rpms up a bit to around 2000 rpms. if it studders its more likely the engine misfire. if its not that .its a possibility that you have a loose or bad wheel bearing in front. also check for a blister or bump one one of the front tires.
