It is recommended that you change the timing belt at 80000 miles, but I had one with over 200,000 miles that never had a problem.

hmmm sounds like first gear is ruined inside the trans if your having to put it in second gear to start rolling may want to have your trans checked out by a mechanic

2001 ford ranger 3.0 auto trans swap out with a 2002 auto trans

On Chevy transmissions there is, on the input shaft, there are two (2) little tabs at the 12 and 6 O'clock position or 180 degrees from one another. When installing the transmission these can often break leaving the transmission useless. It will need to be taken apart and checked on. If it is broken then you can easily replace it from a junkyard trans. (just look forward to a day in the yard tearing apart a transmission) and replace it accordingly.
Keep in mind when reinstaling the replaced transmission, that you HAVE to line these up by spinning the Torque Converter untill it slips on easily. otherwise it will just break again.

If automatic transmission wont work engine block's are not the same, if stander transmission you could swap out bell housing held on with four bolt's from one to the other. Good luck and hope this was very helpful.

I would pickup a plastic manual pump syphon hose, insert it in the transmission fill tube and pump out the appropriate amount. You should be able to buy on cheaply at most auto parts or home improvement stores.

What is included to do a tune up on a 1995 with a 3.0???

you need to change the plugs, change the gear oil for the trans (if it's manual trans) or if it's auto and you have a lot of miles and dont really know when the last time the trans was serviced, bring it to a shop and have them reccomend what you should do with the trans fluid. Change the serpentine belt, do an oil change, air filter change, inspect your brakes and rotors, change out the gear oil in the rear end, inspect and replace your shocks if needed upon inspection, flush and fill coolant system, Check and replace plug wires if neccesary, check and replace water pump if neccesary.

You say you don't tow anything and you only got 85,000 mi. on the truck i don't think it is neceassery. Just chg.filter and oil and blow out the cooling lines and you should be good to go. I'am not saying its a bad or an expensive procedure i just don't think its neceassery.
