Question about 2001 Dodge Caravan

Side Mirror Turn Signals Malfunctioning.

I purchased these side mirror turn signals and installed them the way the company told me to. However they dont work right. They are not defective they just arent functioning the way they should. I was told to hook the positive wire up to the turn signal fuse and to ground the negative wire off to something metal and unpainted surface. They are suppost to blink when I turn the signal on, but now that they are hooked up they stay on steady and do not blink they even stay on when the signals are off and the motor is off. They are going to drain my battery and look stuoid on my mirrors because they dont work. Does anyone know how to fix this??? Suggestions??

I didnt really want to cut into the cars main wires but I was thinking the same thing. I tried again today. They stay on steady. Black wire is grounded and the red wire is hooked up to the fuse as directed and they stay on steady and do not blink. I tried taking the headlight out and unscewing the turn signal bulb and putting the red wire on the connectors and nothing. You think I should splice the cars turn signal wire and attach the side mirror signals?
Whats the best place to ground the black wire do you think? I drilled a small hole and I put the black wire around a screw and screwed it down.
    Any more suggestions?

You have hooked them up to the wrong power wire. They have to be hooked up to the power wire after the flasher control. The easist way would be to go in the engine compartment, find the back of the turn tignal, and conect the mirror power wire (red) to the power wire there. You may need more wire than what the side mirrors came with, but this would be the quickest solution

If you dont want to splice into the blinker wire you can connect the wire up where the wire plugs into the receptor. There will be a connector on the end of the blinker wire, should be enough room to add your new wire.

The ground should work fine where you have it. It is working because the light are getting power.

The connector is was reffering to is all the way up by the headlights. The connector is right at the turn signal light itself. The wire bundle will split up and wires will run into the turn signal lights

Turn signal relay 2007 Avalanche ltz

There is no turn signal relay or flasher , Computer controlled by the BCM - body control module .
Turn Signal/Hazard Lamps
When the turn signal switch is placed in either the left or right position, a ground signal is completed from the turn signal switch to the BCM. When the hazard flasher switch is activated, a ground signal is completed from the turn signal/hazard switch to the BCM. The BCM then sends an ON-OFF voltage signal through the fuses to the appropriate turn signal and side repeater (export only) lamps or to all of the turn signal fuses for hazard operation. The driver door switch and passenger door switch also receive voltage from the BCM turn signal supply voltage circuits for the mirror turn signals. The door switches have no function or control of the mirror turn signals other than a pass through connection for the circuits. The audio chime is also activated when the turn signals are ON. The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives the signals to activate the turn signal indicators over the GMLAN serial data system. When the hazard switch is pressed, all turn signal lamps will flash including both IPC turn indicators.
This is something best left to a qualified repair shop that has a professional type scan tool . Could need new BCM , which would need programming . Scan tool would be able to check switch inputs for BCM .

Passenger side turn signal flashes faster but dont work even at day runing light, comes on when head lights are on, replace bulb and socket because was melted but stilldoes the same

Turn Signal Lamps
The turn signal lamps may only be activated with the ignition switch in RUN or BULB TEST position. The T/SIG fuse supplies ignition voltage to the turn signal switch. When the turn signal switch is placed in either the left or right position, the turn signal switch sends an ignition voltage to the hazard lamp/turn signal flasher, which sends an on-off signal to the turn signal switch. When the turn signal switch receives the on-off signal it will send that signal to the following lamps on the LH or RH side:
?€¢
The Rear Turn Lamp

?€¢
The Turn Signal Indicator

?€¢
The Sidemarker Lamp

?€¢
The Sideview Mirror (Pontiac Thunder only)

The turn signal switch also sends a separate on-off signal to the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) control module, which relays the signal to the appropriate front turn signal. The front turn signals are grounded at G101 and G102. The rear turn signals are grounded at G401. The sidemarker lamps are grounded through the corresponding front parklamp.
The sideview mirror turn signals are a bank of LEDs placed behind the mirror glass.
The hazard lamps operate on battery voltage. The HAZARD fuse supplies battery voltage to the turn signal switch. When the hazard switch is pressed, the turn signal switch sends battery voltage to the hazard lamp/turn signal flasher, which sends an on-off signal to the turn signal switch. The turn signal switch send the on-off signal to all the turn signal lamps, causing all the lamps to flash including both IPC turn signal indicators. The hazard lamp/turn signal flasher is grounded at G200.
When the parklamps are ON, the sidemarker lamps receive voltage from the park lamp supply voltage circuit and illuminate. The sidemarker lamp is grounded through the corresponding rear turn signal. When the turn signal switch is place in the left or right hand position, the rear turn signal illuminates and the sidemarker lamp will loose its ground, causing the sidemarker lamp to turn off when the turn signals are on and to illuminate again when the turn signal is off.
Which blub an socket did you replace ? check the other blub ? The switch and or the flasher module can cause this problem .
Replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column.
Did you complete the replacement?

How do you replace the side mirror led turn signals on a 2010 nissan altima sl

The signal assembly is a dealer part. Not cheap. I would definitely do an electrical troubleshoot to make sure the LED assembly is bad before replacing. If replacement is necessary, side mirrors are not expensive. It would be more economical to find a complete side mirror and replace the whole thing. It just depends on what your time is worth.

The mirror is attached to the door with 3 nuts. Pop off the plastic cover in front of the window to expose the nuts, take an electrical connector loose, and remove the nuts. Swap mirrors, attach the nuts, plug it in, snap on cover. Voila, new mirror.

Outside mirror turn signal on 2001 Lincoln navigator does not work

I have changed many of these...Everytime I inspect one it is always the light that is faulty...and that is all different makes..I have found some have a left and right fuse but it was always the light..The mirror will slightly pivot..carefully pivot mirror slightly inward you will notice it is only held on with plastic clips..Use a good flashlight.....you can actually see behind mirror better at night with a direct beam small led pocket light...use a pocket screwdriver and carefully pry the clips away from mirror while softly pulling on mirror...All you have to do is release the 2 upper and lower outside clips and it will slide out..Then you will see the 2 screws that mount the signal light to the mirror housing..just remove and replace..re-install all the way it was removed...Do it carefully....easy job...

2001 side mirror turn signals do not work. Fuse

If the turn signals on the truck work correctly, this would be a bulb issue.

The best directions I have found with pictures are from Muth ( mfgr of signal mirrors ) : www.kwmuth.com
Enter truck info, and on the product listing page are the install directions for download in PDF format. Download, and use the directions to the glass removal. Once the glass is out, you will see the bulb holder for the signal on the edge of the glamor cap, think this is a bulb type 39 ( ??)
Have seen some people just move the glass all the way in ( so the gap is at the signal side of the mirror head ), and work it this way, I have not done this myself.

Side view mirrors are power and have signal lights and neither are working. its a 2002 ford f150 lightning, any suggestions? Tried replacing fuse and relay and neither fixed problem.

Check for power at the power mirror switch. If you have power ,it is probably the switch. If you are asking about the turn signals it is probably the bulbs. Mine went out for turn signals.

Need help splicing into turn signals and headlights on my 97 jeep

You need to ground the negative from you mirror to a bolt or screw in the car. Then find out which is the positive in the turn signal for each side. You can do so with a test light, turn the signal on then probe the wires at the harness until the test light blinks. That's the cable, attach a cable to the signal cable how ever you choose just don't cut off the signal cable. Then run a cable to the mirror on that side. Do the same for the other side, the easiest way is to hook them up to your turn signals.
