If you are sure that the 'tune-up' things are in check, then consider the mass air sensor. You may want to try going to a salvage yard and talk them into letting you quickly try theirs to see if that is the problem. They will balk, but offer a 'restocking' fee for the 15min. usage if it doesn't help the car.

When I crank my car my idol goes above 2 and then falls down below 1 and then it does a couple of times and then it dies sometimes. when I'm driving & stop and then go it sputter & idol does again

Try changing the tpi throttle positioning sensor found on the throttle body . Check air filter, clean air mass flow sensor.located sometimes in air box ,or after going in throttle body black hose, going in air box usually found in those two spots. If no change. Then I would check o2sensor start whith the cheapest first.
air box / hose going to motor look for a set of wires
unplug wires and pull out clean or replace. Spray whith brake cleaner starter fluid or similar.
Tpi throttle posistioning sensor.
last but least
o2sensor sensor.

96 Jaguar XJ6 starts fine, idles at 800 in neutral 700 in gear, at times it gets a bit rough and stalls sometimes, restarts right away with no issues. Will not rev over 2700 rpm in neutral it just bogs. In...

the crank sensor is favorite they are unreliable that explaines why the trans not getting engine speed signal unless its a manual box and that code will allways be logged advise start by checking for water ingress in engine control module located lower rh a post then change crankshaft position sensor or better still try and borrow one from a good running car

I have a 2002 trailblazer. The car stalls now for whatever reason.

The throttle body needs to be cleaned, grime in this area prevents the throttle plate from closing completely and allowing air to enter, making the air/fuel mixture lean. Make sure to clean the front and back sides of the throttle body. Also, disconnect the battery during the cleaning process to allow the computer to reset and relearn to the cleaned throttle body.

Take the idle air control valve off and clean the carbon out of it then reset the computer by disconnecting the ground cable on the battery for 30 seconds then start the engine. If the problem still exists then replace the throttle position sensor and reset the computer again afterwards.

While driving my 2003 chevy cavalier the engine will die right before the car comes to a complete stop. Sometimes at happens at low speeds when not giving any gas.

it sounds like a dirty throttle body. Just spray clean with throttle body cleaner. Or it could be a plugged air filter...not getting enough air. Or possible fuel filter needs to be changed.

Fuel problem

first i would cover the basics. change the fuel filter, next change the spark plugs, careful this car takes special spark plugs. probably have to get from toyota. next clean the throttle body, pull air nozzle off and open the butterfly so you can spray throttle body cleaner in their and clean with toothbrush. also dont be alarmed after cleaning the throttle body and changing the fuel filter it will be hard starting, hold the gas pedal half way.

Nissan Sentra GA15DE engine - misfiring at random during drive

I have a 1995 Nissan Pulsar and had the same problem with the engine just as you explained, with the white smoke and backfiring, the problem was the pcv valve had failed and the oil was being sucked from it through the vacuum pipe attached to it. the oil would go into the inlet manifold and go into the combustion chamber. I had practically changed everything around the engine block before finding the problem. And also, the MIL light never came on.

Best Of Luck.
