Go to an auto parts store and ask them to read the code for you. Is the gas cap tight? Seafoam should not cause any problems. Drive it for a while it may get better.

buy a can of sea foam motor treatment at a auto parts store pour it in the gas tank with at least a half tank of gas disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 15 seconds reconnect, than start car and drive it should solve problem with hesitation if the problem comes back check for a bad injector are fouled spark plug, you should put sea foam or other brands of injector cleaner fuel conditioner in your gas every other fill up ethanol gas fouls plugs and causes injectors to clog because of the carbon that it forms on your pistons valves and intake runners, sea foam will cure this problem

I have a 1996 Ariens ST-24 snowblower that is hard starting. When it does start it runs just fine. The Tecumseh engine has a primer and I run synthetic oil, 5W30 Mobil 1 and use non-oxy gas with Sea

You could have a hole you cant see in the primer or line to the carb. They vibrate and rub. Make sure you DONT use eco gas. This will turn your gaskets to trash in one summer of not using it. Lastly dump out the old gas and start with new. Snow blowers are famous for condensation building in the tank. Hope I helped

I have a 1995 Honda Accord that was running fine...until my mother put a small amount (apx a gallon) of gas from an old gas can that has sat around for probably a year. My car starts, but practically every...

Try some heet or iso dryer. They reduce water from gasoline. That is most likely what was in the gas can. Gas cans especially ones with just a small amount in them build up condensation inside.get this stuff and a can of sea foam dump them in your gas tank. Two bottles of the dryer and one can sea foam fill tank all the way full and run it out. Good luck.

Car runs rough n stalls at times

fuel filter is bad or you have a dirty fuel tank go to auto zone get a bottle of sea foam and thats the name on the bottle fill your gas tank up to half a tank and pour the sea foam in the gas tank then drive it until you have refill it again now it will run rough after you put this in what its doing is breaking down all the trash and particules in the bottom of the gas tank and its clogging the filter after you do this replace the fuel filter and either way your solving the problem

Thee new fuels today go bad after around 3 weeks because of the ethonol content. Put a can of Sea Foam in the gas tank see if that helps clean it out. Best bet is to drain the tank put new fuel in it with a can of Sea Foam, then give it a good long run until the tank is empty. Re fill the tank and put the correct amount of Stabil in the with the gas, this will stop the gas from turning into sugar and it works for years.
Good luck

My buick sat for a year and wont start. it is fuel injected and not getting gas

You may have to drain the gas from the gas tank and replace the fuel filter. Gas that sit too long will turn in to varnish due to oxidation and will gum up the fuel injectors. Try draining the the gas tank and replacing it with new gas and replacing the fuel filter, once you have that done, *** a can of Sea Foam to your gas tank to clean out the fuel line and fuel injectors. There will be lots of smoke, but that is normal. As to how much smoke, just go on you tube and look up sea foam and you'll see how much so your not in a panic. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, be glad to help you get your car running gain.

I dont know how to put the sea form in my vacum line or were its at.i know to put half in myc tank.someone told me to put half in my tank, and half in my oil.but i just want to be safe then sorry.need help...

I can assume that you mean Sea Foam, the motor treatment. The stuff doesn't work particularly well, but it does pump a lot of smoke out your tailpipe.

They claim that you can dump 1/3 in the crank case (like adding oil), 1/3 in the fuel tank, and 1/3 through the intake. You don't have to do it through the intake, but here's how:

Locate your throttle body (where your air filter leads to - if you need help finding this, have someone step on the gas with the car off, you'll see a cable) Here you'll see some wires and some tubes.

Trace one of the tubes to a clip or junction on the firewall and unclip it with a pair of pliers.

Insert a funnel into the tube, start up the engine (it will run horribly) and slowly add the Sea Foam over the course of 2-3 minutes. If the engine tries to stall out, give it some gas (you can twist the throttle by hand, remember that cable that moved when someone stepped on the gas?). You should see some smoke come from the tailpipe, this is normal.

Rev up the engine - not too high! Keep doing this until the smoke stops pouring out of the tailpipe.

Don't forget to reconnect your vacuum line.

Runs sluggish at start up. It will cough, sputter, chug for about a minute(it seems). If you can get the rpm's up, it will sort of walk out of it. We've recently replaced the spark plug wires, oil, fuel...

  • Possible vacuum line related, suspect problem was related to EGR valve, as this was replaced Nov 07. Problem came back this past weekend. noted vacuum line to EGR valve had no vacuum. I removed device-located top front side of the engine near serpentine belt, noted foam filter inside-cleaned filter reassembled and problem cleared. I believe this device (part of emissions System, investigating official name) may be the culprit. This device has two vacuum lines coming in and 1 electrical connection obove the serpentine belt. with the foam filter removed I was able to stall out the engine by placing my finger over the orfice (care-full of the fan belt). This must be an electrical solenoid that goes intermittent.
