Question about 2004 Saturn VUE
My kid slammed my rear passenger door and now it will not lock. it will open and close fine, but the lock will not move.
Any ideas if this can be fixed at home or do i have to take to Saturn (they will probably charge a fortune!)
It sounds like the the linkage, actuator (power locks), or the mechanism has broken or become dislodged.
On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Pull back the weather seal and you should see everything and hopefully see the cause.
