Question about 1996 Chevrolet Express
1996 Chevy 5.7 1500 van will turn over, but will not catch. Intermediate remedy has been to spray 2-3 shots of starting fluid down air inlet and then van cranks right up. After starting, performance is good with little or no lag, smooth idle, and good acceleration. Once warm, starting difficulty does not arise. Have removed air sensor (?) that is located in the neck of the air inlet (it's still attached, but not installed in the inlet). NO OBD codes to narrow it down. Recent maintenance has included plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter (X2). Pump has good flow and pressure. Van currently has 87K miles. Pls narrow this down for me.
Dont ever spray strting fluid in a gas engine you can ruin the rings.MAF is probably bad.
