You need to make sure you get any air pockets out of the engines coolant system before you drive anywhere. If you dont see the air bleeder try this. Fill the radiator and put the recovery bottle about half full. Put the cap on the radiator and let the car run for 5 minutes then turn it off and let it cool off. Carefully remove rad. cap and see if it needs more coolant. If it does not put cap back on and let it run for 10 minutes.Turn it off and let it cool then check it again.
Dont be in a hurry! To many people will drive with an air pocket and over heat the engine! Most of the newer cars do trap air if you let some of the coolant out.
Wear safety glasses when removeing radiator cap slowly,to be safe.
I hope this helps you.

Do you mean thermostat if so thenyou have.........
Remove it again and check it with the one you took out and it must be the Same, and same temp opening and closing ,and then put it in the right way up,,,as the small flat side is the top and the spring looking part goes down into the water first(or nearest to the engine)as what you are doing is boiling the water in the engine before going to radiator

I have a used 97 Saturn SL1 that over heats when you drive up steep hills. It uses 2 gals. of 50-50 antifreeze every 3 or 4 days. It doesn't use any on flat road driving. The fan comes on when it over heats but the water boils and steams really bad.I changed the antifreeze, the fan relay, and the 30 amp fan fuse but no luck, any ideas how to solve this?

Why does my 02 ram keep blowing out heater cores. third one in a year

Is your antifreeze mixture ratio correct? You have to mix it with water by the capacity of the cooling system. Not enough antifreeze and you get ice in the core. Too much antifreeze is just as bad. Try this... when you expect it will get cold overnight leave the heater controls on heat with the highest temperature setting. Then shut off the truck. You might want to wrap the exposed heater hoses under the hood with insulation like you would use on an outside water faucet

I have a 2000 dodge stratus. the heat/ac blower was only working on high. i replaced the resistor and that solved the problem for a very short time and now only works on high again. what would cause the...

Thermal fuse, mike (from above) was correct. I did as instructed, and now my ac works on any level. And it actually feels alittle cooler. All you do is go to radio shack and get a thermal fuse, mine was 435 degress f,236 celcius. It cost a total of $1.94. i removed the cover below my glove box, unscrewed the blower resistor, removed the old fuse with a drill bit (it was soldered), and soldered the new one on and reverse the steps on putting it back together. it worked!

How do I change a thermostat in a 2001 New Beatle VW

First you should drain the antifreez by opening the drain plug located by the lower radiator hose. Then take the upper radiator hose off. Then take the 2 bolts out that hold the housing on. Remove the housng and there is your thermastat. Accordind to VW they want you to put antifreeze on the o-ring I use RTV a little extra help sealing just don't put a lot on. The book says to put thermastat in housing and turn 1/4 turn to right. I'm not sure why but thats what it says. TIP If you close the drain plug now and put as much antifreeze in as you can makes it easyer to get air pockets out later. Mount your therrmostast housing back to block and tighten bolts. Again put as much antifreeze in that you can them put upper radiator hose back on. Again put as much antifreeze in that you can. Now come the hard part sometimes getting all the air out of the cooling system. Put the radiator cap on but loose run the engine till the cooling fan kicks on but keep checking the coolant level. WARNING ANTIFREEZE WILL GET ABOVE 200 DEGREES
both upper and lower radiator hoses should be hot and radiator full. If both hoses aren't hot you have an air pocket that you have to get out. To do this run the engine a couple minutes after the fan kicks on then turn engine off for 5 or 10 minutes and start over keep doing this till both hoses get hot and the air the fan is blowing is hot. Once this is doe yout ready to go. I hose off any antifreeze that got one car so if you see antifreeze under car you know something is leaking and not what was spilled. 254a047.pnga06a9b1.png
