Abs and tcs/dsc traction control warning lights coming on

When starting the car there is a small kick back in the brake pedal also a small spring popping sound. this does not happen when foot is not on the brake when starting. while starting to drive, as soon as the brake pedal is pushed down to brake the abs warning light and the tcs/dsc traction control warning light (slippery when wet looking warning light) both come on at the same time and remain on until car is shut off again. and repeats the cycle over again when car is started just looking for answers as to what could be causing this to happen.

SOURCE: when starting the car there is a small kick back

When you start the car,the vacuum assist is what pulls on the brake pedal. It "may' be a brake booster problem.Without the car to look at its a hard thing to say.The small spring popping sound is strange..I think the brake booster is the starting problem.A leak?I hope this helps

PRE-DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTIONBefore diagnosing ABS/TCS, perform a comprehensive visual inspection of system as follows.Check ABS/TCS wiring harness connectors for looseness. Check harness routing; pay particular attention to wheel speed sensor wiring harness routing. Check fuses No. 1D, 5B and 6B in instrument panel fuse block. Check fuses No. 1 and 2 in underhood fuse block. Check brake fluid level in master cylinder reservoir. Check brake fluid level in Pressure Modulator Valve (PMV) assembly reservoir. Ensure parking brake is fully released. Ensure parking brake switch is functioning properly. Always perform ABS/TCS system functional check before using DIAGNOSTIC CODE CHARTSThe EBCM/EBTCM has self-diagnostic capability, which can detect system failures. Fault codes stored by EBCM/EBTCM can be displayed using Tech 1 scan tester. There are no provisions for flash code diagnostics.Begin ABS/TCS diagnosis with PRE-DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION procedure. If failures are found during pre-diagnostic inspection, perform necessary repairs, and proceed with ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK. See Fig. 5 .If no failures are found during pre-diagnostic inspection, go to ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK. See Fig. 5 . The ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK will either indicate ABS/TCS is functioning properly or direct technician to various diagnostic procedures such as diagnostic charts, symptom diagnosis or BRAKE warning light diagnosis.CHART D - TRACTION OFF WARNING LIGHT ON CONTINUOUSLY & NO DTC SET (BUICK WITH UH8 OR U2A INSTRUMENT CLUSTER)Circuit DescriptionWhen ignition switch is first turned to RUN position, EBTCM goes through a self-test, which lasts 2-4 seconds. Mazdaspeed 3 08 Traction control light on

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS, TPMS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Anti-lock brake system. TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module. TPMS Tire Pressure Monitor System

the TCS is traction control system and the ABS is anti-lock brake system, best guess is that you have a bad wheel speed sensor, you can drive it but if you get in a spot were you need either system like ice or snow as long as the lights are on the systems will not work, but it will not hurt anything the car just wont be as good as it could be on slick pavement.

abs=anti-lock brake system/ tcs=traction control system ==sounds like you have a problem with ur abs possible bad sensor or a wiring connection problem when abs shuts down [trouble light] your brakes will work normal but if u stomp or brake hard the brakes will lock up skid and the tcs doesnt affect brakes but if u accelerate hard tires will spin lose traction check the wiring and connections to the sensors sometimes debris hits the wire and loosens the connection if looks ok and light is on have car scanned for the trouble code most auto stores such as auto zone/advanced auto offer this service for free the code will what and where the problem is so repair can be made

I assume tht is traction control. Check fuses ,eeven abs fuses ,traction control is part of abs. If fuses ok will need scan tool to find cause of lite going on. Most common are abs sensors and broken abs wires. And if abs tone ring is part of axle shaft some rock may have damaged teeth of ring .
