My nissan patrol gu2 st 4500, 150000 km on the clock, wont pull.

My nissan patrol gu2 st 4500, 150000 km on the clock, just wont pull.
pulling a trailer or going up the hill it suffers.
towing a 12 ft. van it uses 30 lt of gas per 100 km.no towing avarages 21lt a 100 km.
had it tuned by ultratune in melb. made no difference.
bendigo dynotune in wood st. had a go at it also, they charged more than ultratune but only made it worse. starts ok, runs smooth. it is dual fuel.has same problem on petrol and gas , no guts under load. thanking you for any help.

Had the car checked by a backyard mechanic in Melbourne al he did was ; set the timing and adjusted the valves, simple . Problem was the Bendigo Dyno Tune as well as the Ultra Tune lot had no idea how to do a basic tune on an engine . Also according to the mechanic Nissans on gas need valve clearance checked regularlly.

Without knowing the car.It should use about 16lt per 100km.No van.Just moving around.Ok.The van is going to use more. That model does use fuel but not as much as you quoted. You said no towing its about 21lt.Thats cause there is too many traffic lights in melbourne.:)I'am from Gold Coast. The injectors can be the cause of bad milage.Dirty or playing up.A bad air filter is a common problem.Because you said it was a prob. on fuel and gas,I would start looking at the inlet side of things first. The filter?Yours is efi.Get the inlet flow meter checked and then the exhaust oxygen sensor. If one is out,it makes the other do the wrong thing.Like pump more fuel.I hope this is of help

I have a 1999 nissan patrol gu 4.2 st ute and it out heats when i go over 100 km/ hr

Hi Damien, Did you lately have any work carried out to the valve timing assembly? If a timing belt or chain has been replaced and the timing has no been set correctly, misalignment can cause over heating. It would help to know what engine is fitted into your vehicle and if it is diesel or petrol. Regards John

Hi my 1988 nissan patrol window wipers dont go in the high position, what would be the problem?

Hi,
The problem will be the wiper linkage, either the linkage connector are all broken and the motor needs adjustment! The connector are made of plastic and at the age of that patrol it might have been broken and needs a grease! U could access the linkage by removing the wiper motor and unscrew the wiper and wiper base! The easiest part is pulling it out... the hardest will be putting back! Don't worry, it takes time and patience and u could get it back again!
