Check your brake switch. should be located under the steering wheel on the brake pedal.

The only thing left is the brake light switch. It should be on your brake pedal arm on the upper end. Make sure there's power to it and that the switch has continuity when pressed.

With the condition of the screws you should check to make sure there is a good connection to the lower bulbs for both power and ground.

I have a 2009 Chevrolet Colorado and my rear brake lights are not working. My brakes work but not my rear lights. Tried replacing bulb but that wasn't problem. Hopefully someone has some answers.

if all the brake light bulbs are ok it could be the brake light switch which is normally on the brake pedal hope this helps.also check if theres a fuse for your brake lights some vehicles do.

I have a 1989 Buick Park avenue. A month ago all of the back lights stopped working. Tail lights, brake lights, reverse lights.

Check your fuses underneath the drivers side steering wheel. Flip the plastic cover over and there will be a diagram showing the fuse that controls the taillights/stoplamp. Pull the fuse out and replace it with the same number fuse and your taillights and brake lights will work again. If the fuses are ok, pull each taillight bulb out and replace it with a new bulb. Sometimes when one light bulb fails, all of them will fail.

NO REAR OR BRAKE LIGHTS BUT ALL BULBS AND FUSES SEEM OK.

check the Switch under the dash on the brake peddle . it could be stuck or broken get a a wire tie the lights together test for continuity at that switch. check your trailer light hook ups for shorts. If you have a braking power module for towing you may have to replace it or check and make sure it is getting juice.

Brake lights do not work

There is a fuse for that. The changes that both rear break light bulbs broke is highly unlikely. Check the fuse if that's ok then go to the rear, remove both bulbs and check to see if the filliment is broken.

now if that's ok then you have faulty wiring/wiring harness

Left rear brake light stopped working but bulb and fuses are OK.

These are Dual Function Bulbs. They control the Parking Lights and the Brake Lights. This Bulb is Burnt out on the Brake Coil inside the Bulb. I have actually seen Bulbs that were Bad But you could not Tell by jast looking at them. It should be fine with a New Bulb. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Left and right brake light doesn't work but center lights does

check behind the brake peadle for a little button that pushes in and out when the peadle is pressed(this is your brake light switch) some cars have more than one of theese. manualy let the button out if the light works the switch is good if it does not disconect the harness from the switch and take a small piece of wire and jump the two prongs on the harness if the brake lights come on then you need a brake light switch. if this doesnt work check for power at the switch. if no power you have a bad fuse if there is power and you already jumped the wires to the switch then you have a broken wire between the switch and the tail lights.
