Have someone check the brake lights when the pedal is depressed to check if they are working properly. also check tail light housing for water damage that can cause electrical shorts.

How can I take off the tail light assembly to replace the bulb for the left tu

Open the trunk. In the left corner where the lamp assembly is, you should see two screw covers that cover the screws holding in the lamp assembly.

Remove these covers to find the screws, and unscrew them to pull the taillamp assembly out of the vehicle body. Disconnect the lamp wiring harness, turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to pull out the socket, revealing the light bulb. Then pull the bulb right out of the socket and replace it with a new bulb.

Replace the socket, turning it clockwise. Replace the taillight assembly. Check that the taillamp assembly tab, located at the bottom of the taillamp assembly, is aligned to the facia bracket before securing the screws.

Screw the taillamp assembly back into the vehicle body and replace the screw covers. Check to make sure the new bulb works properly.

Your owners manual specifies that the rear left turn lamp is a lamp with bulb number 3057K. You should be able to find them at any automotive store or from your dealer. Hope this helps.

Trying to change a rear light bulb and dont know how to open it up

Rear Turn Signal, Brake & Parking Lights The taillamps, stoplamps and rear turn signals lamps are all incorporated into the rear taillamps. The taillamps are lit whenever the parking lamps or headlamps are in operation. The rear turn signal lamps flash with the front turn signal lamps whenever a turn is indicated with the turn signal/headlamp dimmer switch. The stoplamps light whenever the brake pedal is depressed and the stoplamp switch is closed.

Remove the taillamp housing from the vehicle to service the light bulbs

  1. Open the rear compartment (trunk).
  2. If equipped, unhook the convenience net that stretches between the taillamps. It is attached to hooks molded into the plastic taillamp assembly retaining wingnuts. Loosen the rear compartment trim panel. It is retained by plastic pins with a screw in the center. Back out the screw to release any tension on the plastic pin legs, and pull the trim (thin carpet-like material) for access to the taillamps.
  3. Remove the plastic taillamp assembly retaining wingnuts.
  4. Remove the taillamp assembly from the vehicle and service the light bulbs as required.
  5. Installation is the reverse of the removal process.
  6. Test the lights for correct operation.

There is a light coming on in my 1994 toyota camry it looks like a little car with lines coming out of the back of it, what does it mean?

Hello. Please allow me to assit.

The light that you see is the 'rear taillamp failure ' indicator. This light comes on when you have a burnt out brake or taillamp. A sensor in the trunk (driver side) looks after the operation of the rear bulbs,.

When checking the rear lamps for outages, please do not forget to look at the brake light in the rear window, it too is monitored by the rear lamp failure sensor.

Replace any burned out lightbulbs, and the sensor will shut off the light.

1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove the two screws from the taillamp assembly.
3. Pull the taillamp assembly rearward until you
disengage the inner pins on the taillamp
assembly from the vehicle.
4. Press the release tab, if bulb socket has one,
and turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to
remove it from the taillamp assembly.
5. Pull the old bulb straight out from the bulb
socket.
6. Press a new bulb into the bulb socket and
insert it into the taillamp assembly. Turn the
bulb socket clockwise into the taillamp
assembly until it clicks.
7. Reinstall the taillamp assembly. When
reinstalling, make sure to line up the pins on
the taillamp assembly with the vehicle. If
you do not do this, you will not be able
correctly install the taillamp assembly.

Could be the bulb sockets or the circuit board built into the whole taillamp assembly. The sockets are only about $12 and there should be 3 of them per side. If more than 1 bulb is not lighting up in your taillamp then I would say that your problem is the circuit board which like I said only comes in the taillamp assembly. Dealers usually keep these in stock since this is a problem these jeeps have been having. Next I would think about finding some window regulators cheap also cause those are all about to go out as well. Just a little friendly advice. Good luck.

Warning light on dasher

This is the taillamp failure indicator. You either have a burned out taillamp or a burned out brake lamp bulb(s). Please make sure when you check for inoperative brake lamps that you make sure that the brake lamp in the rear window works, also.

Look to see if the "center" brake light is inoperative. The symbol that you are describing is the indicator for a taillamp failure. I would bet that the brake lamp in the back window is not lighting up. Also, it is very important that ALL of the taillamp bulbs be of the same brand. Different brands may have different wattages, and this too could light the failure indicator, as the sensor reads resistance via the total wattage draw when the lights are on. Hope this helps.

Warning light interprete

The indicator you are speaking of is the taillamp failure indicator. Most likely, you may have a burned out brake lamp bulb. This has nothing to do with the front lighting, brake & tail lamps only.
