Question about 1996 Dodge Caravan
Vehicles equiped with engine or transmission computers may require a relearn procedure after the battery is disconnected. Many auto computers memorize and store operation patterns for optimum performance. When the battery is disconnected this memroy is lost. the computer will use default data until new data from each key start is stored. As the computer memorizes the operation for every new start the driveability is restored. This may take up to 40 or more starts. I'm not entirely convinced this is your issue but seeing that your computer can't make up its mind it would be my best assumption. Give it some more time before you go nuts trying to figure it out.
