Question about 2000 Audi A4

From time to time the turbo hose attached to the throttle body falls off.Usually when the engine is hot. I own an Audi A4 1.8L 2004.

4 Cylinder Thermostat Removal


1. Drain the coolant by opening the drain cock or removing the lower radiator hose. Remove the lid to speed up process

2. Remove the throttle body cover on turbo cars

3. Remove the bypass hose and the pressure pipe between the Intercooler and the throttle body on turbo cars

4. Rempve the screw that holds the coolant pipe to the water pump

5. Remove the screw that holds the coolant pipe in the front left of the engine

6. Remove the hose to the throttle body pre-heater

7. Remove the thermostat housing and remove the thermostat

8. Refit in Reverse

Change thermostat on 2004 chevy impala?


first you need drain engine coolant down below thermostat. what engine type 3.8 or 3.4 need to know.the 3.8 engine thermostat housing on top intake follow top radiator hose to thermostat housing.the 3.4 engine you have to remove air filter housing with air inlet duct with mass air flow sensor.you have to remove throttle body with coolant hoses.go to auto parts store buy new throttle body hoses old ones will be hard to remove might have to cut two small hoses also buy new throttle body gasket also. before you can remove throttle body unit you have to remove accelerator cable and downshift cable from bracket bolted to throttle body.once throttle body remove then you can remove thermostat housing bolt remove replace thermostat.

Do you know where i can find a 'vacuum diagram' for a turbo 350 transmission (1980 chevy blazer...stalls when you put it in gear)


There is usually only one vacuum connection on a turbo 350. It connects to the modulator valve on the side of the transmission. This valve uses engine vacuum to determine transmission shift points. The other end usually connects to a direct engine vacuum source. A "direct source" is a hose connection on the throttle body that has a vacuum signal available at idle. If it doesn't, then it's considered a "ported source".I have had some experience with the chevy blazer/gmc jimmy series, both the early large body models and the small body versions. The stalling when put into gear complaint is most likely caused by a bad intake gasket which is common on the older versions with the small block V8 motors. The newer versions with the vortek motors also had allot of trouble with throttle body gaskets. If these problems have not already been addressed, then there's a good chance that it will take care of the problem. Other possible sources of vacuum leaks are the pcv hose that is hard and brittle. Check the hose out carefully, especially the side that normally faces the engine. Check the throttle body bolts (carburetor bolts) for tightness. I hope that this information is helpful to you. When i start the 1992 eagle talon tsi turbo FWD, the RPMs bounce from 750-500 a few times then does fine- then when i move any either in reverse or foreword, then start to slow down to a stop, the engine...


What you have is a faulty TPS-throttle position sensor, they are fairly inexpensive and easy to replace. You can find it on the throttle body of your fuel injection system, just follow the air intake hose from the box toward the engine, and it will be right off the throttle body. It is usually connected with a couple of screws/bolts, and has a plug in.

2004 pontiac aztek thermostat replacement? overheated today. never done it before. mileage is 64000, 3400 engine


The thermostat is located behind the metal housing that is bolted to the intake manifold on the drivers side of the engine below the throttle body.

There are 2 bolts holding the hosing on. A 13mm swivel socket and a 13mm wrench will be needed to remove the bolts.

Sometimes it is easier to remove the throttle body if it is your first time. It will let you see what you are doing a little better.

1. remove the air cleaner cover and hose attached to the throttle body.
2. remove the throttle body (optional)
3. Using a swivel socket and wrench remove the 2 bolts holding the thermostat housing from the intake manifold.

Im trying to locate the throttle actuator control unit on my audi a3 as i have a engine managment light on

The electronic throttle acuator is part of the throttle body. Just follow the air inlet tube from the air filter box to the throttle body where the throttle pedal cable attaches.

Audi missing at idle, engine smoke, and vacuum leak


audi oil leaks are usually valve cover gaskets. oil run off causes smoke on exhaust downpipes.while vacuum hoses do tend to dry rot with time it may also be the secondary air injection pump (if cold ) or waste gate for turbo.try to use a long hose,put one end on your ear use the other to locate sound. extending mirror and light may help too. missing at idle could mean time for tune up or coil pack failing. good luck

The PCV valve is located on the passenger side valve cover towards rear of engine.

The engine is sputering under load what might cause almost acts like the turbo isnt working


Check the rubber air hoses under the hood for cracks or splits. The most common one would be the 'Michelin Man' hose that is attached to the throttle body, two other likely culprits would be the hoses that attach to the intercooler tubes. Also check the strange looking hose that runs from the fuel distributor to the intake tube. You may have to flex these hoses to see the splits, as they frequently form on the underside of the hose or in other areas not easily visible.
