You have to drop the fuel tank. remove the pump, then replace the sending unit which should be with the pump.(the one that looks like a float)

get a second opinion when this statement is made
ac units only need replacing if parts are no longer available for repairs or the quoted repairs make it uneconomical to repair when compared to new units
for example
if your units is 15 years old, parts will be scarce and if it needs a compressor the cost of the part and labor will be close to the price of a new unit
new units are inverter units and are less costly to run and the larger units have reverse heating capability which makes them a heater unit in winter
best advice -- get a second opinion and then quotes for new units and make a decision on that information

I have a problems with my gage on my 1997 ford Thunderbird the gas go to full all the time what could that be


Here are some suggestions:

TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM: The fuel gauge does not work at all...no needle movement. With the ignition switch on, remove the wire from the fuel tank sending unit and ground it to the unit housing. This removes the resistance supplied by the sending unit, and should cause the gauge to swing over to the 'Full' position. Does this happen?

The gauge and wiring are good. The problem is most likely with the sending unit. The sending unit must be removed for further testing. (1) Ground the sending unit wiring to a good chassis ground (instead of the sending unit housing) and watch the gauge. Does it now peg out to the 'Full' side? Yes
No
The problem is with the sending unit ground. Either the unit itself is bad or the float/arm is binding/missing. The sending unit must be removed for further testing. The power supply to the gauge has been interrupted, (check fuses), the gauge is defective, or the wire from the gauge to the sending unit is open or has a break in it. Testing the Sending Unit After the sending unit has been removed from the tank, check to make sure the float is present, intact and still floats and that there is no binding with the float arm. Reconnect the gauge wiring to the unit and ground the unit. Move the float arm up and down. If the gauge reads full in the full up position and empty in the full down position, then the sending unit is good. Verify by hooking up an ohmmeter to it and making sure it reads 8-12 ohms full and 70-73 ohms empty. If not, the sending unit needs repaired or replaced. You can easily disassemble the head of the sending unit to clean and/or repair.

  • The AC unit turns on but doesn't cool: If your unit turns on but doesn't cool, check your thermostat to be sure that it is set at the correct temperature. You should then check the condenser and evaporator for dirt and clogging. If too much dirt builds up, your unit may not turn on at all.
  • The condenser unit returns on and off repeatedly: Having a unit turn on and off repeatedly is extremely frustrating. In general, this problem is caused either by a dirty condenser and fan or a clogged condenser.
  • The condenser unit won't turn on: If your condenser unit won't turn on at all, you may have a faulty motor or the unit may not be receiving power. Examine all wiring and ensure that the unit is plugged in.

I need to replace the oil sender switch on my 2002 Buick La Sabre


first need to buy oil pressure sending unit 3/8 deep socket remove oil pressure sending unit you need teflon tap sealer for oil sending unit threads.okay to replace oil pressure sending unit.you need safe raise support vechicle locate oil pressure sending unit next to the oil filter.disconnect oil pressure sending unit wire connector then use oil pressure sending unit 3/8 socket remove the sending unit.then take new oil pressure sending unit use teflon tape white plumbers tape or use thread sealer apply to the oil pressure sending unit threads then install new oil pressure sending unit and reconnect electrical connector to sending unit.then crank engine check for oil leak if all is good lower vechicle back to ground wait several minutes check engine oil level.you good to roll.

Take the sending unit back, either you truly have high oil pressure and you blow the oil filter or the sending unit is shorting together with power,or the harness has rub through together, either way get another part under warranty and go from there,and be careful how you install the unit

Engine oil leaking near sending unit. Replaced unit and oil still leaks. What could be the cause?


Look up overhead above the sending unit for any oil that maybe dripping from above,makeing you think it's the sending unit leaking. If not then you may use a little thread sealer to seal the leak. Also check to see if the sending unit is loose and the threads may not be the same as the old unit you removed (metric/standard/pipe) Hope this will help you.

I Have a pioneer radio, DEH-1900MP in my 2000 ford focus. I need to know how to remove it so that I can repair an air conditioning malfunction.

Vehicles with high output amplifier and subwoofer
  1. Using a common radio remover, detach the audio unit.
    1. Insert the common radio remover into the locating holes. Pull the tools gently to the left and right of the audio unit to release the locking tangs.
    1. Slide the audio unit out of the instrument panel.
  1. Remove the audio unit.
    • Disconnect the audio unit electrical connectors.
All except vehicles with high output amplifier and subwoofer
  1. Using the special tools, detach the audio unit.
    1. Insert the special tools into the locating holes. Pull the tools gently to the left and right of the audio unit to release the locking tangs.
    1. Slide the audio unit out of the instrument panel.
  1. Remove the audio unit.
    • Disconnect the audio unit electrical connectors.
