2000 ford windstar has a bad stumble when idling like it's missing accelerates fine when reaches cursing speed acks like it's missing also my cruise control stoped working

If your Windstar has the 3.8 liter engine, you are due for head gasket replacement. Just had mine done. The cruise control failure could be due to an open fuse or speed sensor failure.

You may be headed for the notorious 3.8l head gasket failure. Just had the head gasket replaced in my 2000 Windstar and it is performing normally.

I have Ecort 1.8 td from 2000 Y of production, and have white smoke on pipetail and idles very roughly, engine coolent is OK, oil level is OK, what can it be the problem?.

White smoke and running roughly would normally point to a head gasket problem.

Keep an eye on your engine coolant I'd imagine it will start to disappear.

Would my car still run if i had a blowen head gasket? it blew ati-freeze out the tail pipe but ppl that had it before me had a hole in the radiator and put sealer in it.so some are tell me it might nit be...

Blown head gasket if antifreeze is coming out from the tail pipe and yes the engine will still run, but not for long. Antifreeze is corrosive to the crank shaft bearing and will cause you a new engine if engine keep running with antifreeze mixed with the oil.

03 windstar rough idle working bad, worse in the rain

ford has a technical service bullitin out on this vehicle for the intake gaskets leaking causing a vacum leak that set codes 171 174. the solution is to have the intake manifold gaskets replaced . call your local ford dealer and see what thay can tell you about this bullitin.

Since you are getting the 171 and 174 at the same time you need to replace the mass air flow sensor.then clear the codes. After which take the car for a drive and let me know how it does.

The codes are lean fuel condition for both banks. A very common problem with this engine that will set these codes are the upper & lower intake gaskets. You may experience a rough or rolling idle at cold start up and the condition will go away as the engine warms up. If you have checked all the basics such as vacuum leaks or air inlet leaks between the air filter box and the throttle body, then I would consider replacing these intake gaskets. Good Luck and please leave rating. Thanks
