Question about Toyota Avalon

After driving the car and parking for a while problems restarting

After driving the car and parking for a while. Very intermitently my 2005 Avalon won't re-start when the starter button is pushed lst time. On second or third try it will start very roughly. You have to play with the gas almost like it had vapor lock to keep it running. Last time it did it on the second try to restart it started but was deiseling very noisy and rough almost sounde like it was running on one side of the engine.
I run Chevron mid grade with Techtron. Once the car is started initially or a restart it runs and idles smoothly with no hesitation.

Had to the dealer several times last time they kept 3 days hooked up to a portable computer each time they tried a restart. Never did it for them. Both times I had it in for this all they thought to do was clean the throttle body?
I may happen twice in a week and not again for a month. They checked the Start Button and Brake Peddle Start Switch, no problem. Scoured the internet and the NHSTA Site nothing like this. It is a shame as otherwise a beautiful riding and driving car. Yet I have thoughts of getting rid of it eventhough it has never not started or left me stranded. Please help. Thank you very much.

About the only thing that comes to mind is a faulty EGR valve that stays stuck.

if gasoline fumes, do not drive it , or park in any garage,
id park it , in a field of yugos. LOL but seriously ,
so find a mech that knows how to find either gas leaks or bad venting.
we always assume the worse leaks. (see why?safety)

Rear wiper wont stop working in both auto, intermitant and off. was wondering whether it would be the relay?

Sounds as if the parked sensor is not working and the motor cannot "find" the correct
park position so it keeps running and looking for park.

Car shut off while driving, now it won't restart. What can I do? It acts like it wants 2 start, but shuts back off.

Hello,

Seems to me that you might have a bad fuel pump or an intermitant fuel pump problem. If you access to a fuel pressure gauge I would install it and check to see if you have good fuel pressure. You will want to also check for fuel volume over a certain period of time and a Glass Container measure the amound of fuel if any coming out of the test port. You will have to remove the small shreader valve to do this test.

I would like to help you further with other steps and diagnostic procedures, please contact me if you will.

Thank you and best of luck.

Toyota Avalon 2005 XLS-vibrations came from the seat when acselerate the car and between 60-70 mph.Installed brand new tires, did the aligment -same problem.Any idea?

Was the problem there with the old tires? Have you had any brake work done recently or not in many years? How are the engine and trans mounts? Are the struts leaking oil? When did it start etc, etc. I wouldn't rule out engine performance ,but would have to drive it, to split out the posibilities.

How to reset hand brake toyota avalon 2005

you have to check the e-brake shoes. these shoes live inside the rear brake rotors. the shoes will either just need to be adjusted or possibly replaced if they cracked from the heat of driving w/ them engaged. sorry there's not a quick fix to this one

have your ABS system scaned for codes(intermtent code) as for the car not goin out of park when applying the brake, there is a level or linkage that works as a safety, this linkage may need adjustment.the linkeage goes from thr pedal(brake) to the shifter, some of the work thru a selenoid that gets activated when the switch is on.
