Question about 1999 Isuzu Amigo

1 Answer

I have a 1999 Amigo V6 that occasionally experiences very hard shifts up and down. It appears to somehow be linked to the ABS because it seems to occur just after the hard braking situations.

1994 Dodge Dakota 3.9 V6 dies occasionally, does not shift to OD occasionally (automatic), frequently stumbles while driving. It sat for several years without driving. I have been driving it for three

Replace the gas filter!

That could even explain the failure to shift into Overdrive, as the engine cannot be running lean for the computer to allow it to shift into Overdrive.

Easy $10 fixya.

I have a 2003 buick century 3100 v6 and it occasionally will not shift from 1st to 2nd.. it is not slipping just wont shift and when it does shift its usually a hard shift. as i said this is occasional as...

A sensor or solenoid, yes. Simple, probably not.
Odds are you'll need a transmission shop to use a scanner to find out which component is not working.
It could also be dirt in the valve body.

Abs light brake light on not shifting

look under the truck at the ****** and check the wiring to the sensors if good may be a bad sensor, also check the wiring and connections to the abs wheel sensors [ located from frame to the hub behind the rotors ] the abs also acts as speed sensor if problem was with an abs sensor at the[ hub] wheel usually set the brake system to normal power brakes [if u hit brakes hard will lock up or skid wheels] with the abs light coming on if the speed sensor at ****** malfunction can and usually causes shift problems

Replace the tps and the problem still exists it bogs down under load and shifts extremely hard

easiest thing to do. and i know this one from experience. check your timing. its probably not timed properly. this makes for hard starts. engine bogging down while acceleration. shifting hard due to to high an rpm range before shifting

Replaced transmission seal then on 2 different occasions going down highway at bout 65 to 70 miles hour transmission kept shifting btween overdrive n drive come to a stop n take off didnt do it again...

Computer controlled transmissions can get confused at times, from my personal experience. If the problem doesn't happen again, I would ignore it. If it happens all the time, it's most likely the transmission computer. Other things could be the shift linkage, engine vacuum leak, speed sensor, etc... Hope this helps.
