Does a 2002 taurus have wheel barrings

Possibilities are:
  1. Bad wheel bearing
  2. Bad tie rod
  3. Bad ball joint
  4. Bad strut
  5. Loose lug nuts
Most cases it's a wheel bearing but since you're getting a loud noise too, it could very well be a bad ball joint or tie rod end.

Knocking in front end had linkages replaced but the knocking is still there

replace the front struts AND the turn plates above them, they call those the "strut kits". it houses a bearing plate that turn with the steering wheel.... if the struts are too expensive to replace right now, just have the strut KITS replaced. Very common with 80K+ front wheel drive cars and almost always an area most people look over. good luck

Noisy front end. any little bumb sends rough sound. the car rides great. I cannot stand the noise. I am about to change the struts, the sound is more a suspention point that is set up.

Before you change the struts check the stabilizer linkages and bushings. They will make a lot more noise a lot easier than a strut will. Also check the torque on the strut bearing bolts that go up through the strut tower. While the car is sitting, Push down hard on the front end and listen for where the noise is coming from. Other possible sources of the noise are the lower ball joints or the strut bearing. If you are changing the struts, change the strut bearings as well. You don't want to have to unbolt everything again if they go bad in ten thousand more miles. Good luck.

How do I replace cv boot on a buick park ave

The boot you need to replace is call OUTER CV BOOT.

The quickest way to inspect is to drive it in low speed (UNDER 10 mph) tight left and right turns.

If you hear clicking sound then the CV shaft is bad.

It's also depending on how long the CV boot been crack.

===
If you decide to go ahead on the job then please observe safety and use jack stands to fully support the front end.

Remove wheel, cotter pin, retainer cap and larger axle nut.

Make alignments markings on the strut tower and steering mount so your front end will able to put back to alignment.

You will need an able body to do the following.

Remove the large lower strut bolts and swing the strut off the CV.

DO NOT ROCK THE CAR!!!

Clean off the outer CV.

Install boot, grease and the two bands.

Line up the strut and steering yoke marks

repack bearings,lock nut,cap,cotter pin,wheel.

Drive the car in low speed for 1 miles with tight turns.

Do a quick inspection to make sure the CV boot is sitting perfectly on the CV.

2003 Protege5 front suspension knocking noise

front stuts need replacement, buy this point it would be both. you can tell most of the time buy if you hit a pot hole on the left and it makes a nosie thats the side. but after a few days of driving like this both are in bad shape and need replacement.

there is no bearing its just the strut, you can tell buy getting a jack stand and lifting the front and moving the tire side to side and back to front. usaly anything over 10-20 thouthands of an inch is bad, and that mean if you feel it it's bad.

but anyways to replace it you will need a sop, you have to compress your front srping in order to remove and install a strut.

Mazda 3 2004 front end struts shot

front end problems are not very uncommon becuse of the way we drive and where we drive, the front struts take quite a beating on the road thus giving us all the smooth comfortable painless noise less ride !!.

today the actual labor rate is soring and that is the reason for your big bills yet a reasonable price i would pay would be around $90 per side and the part will be around 200 for both front struts thus for a total of $400 for the front look into deals given by most auto speciality shops such as goodyear or pep boys but always ask for them to return your old parts to you this will be a good price around $400 - 450. for the front.

the noise you hear while you turn either to left or to the right while you are driving is bad front wheel bearings see if these are servicable bearings and if they are they can be cleaned and repacked with grease if they are sealed bearings then the bearings have to be replaced.
