SOURCE: how do i remove ign. switch on 1997 blazer

i just cut the bottom of the plastic from under the key switch and the cover came right off and once it is put together again you can\'t tell the thing was cut. Bye the way some times the all you have to do is blow out the 4 way switch from the top with an air gun (which i did) and it may work. saved me $450.00 just for the part. Seems that because it\'s on top it collects junk and get\'s clogged up and a good blowing out will sometimes clear it out. worked for me hope it does for you too.

No brake lights , everything else works

Sounds like your brake light switch, located on the brake pedal, has gone out. Shouldn't cost to much at auto parts store. Thanks for using fixya.

Changing emergency flasher switch

Disconnect the battery for 1 hour before you start and the air bag will be safe, be very careful when removing it, they are still an explosive device.

No turn signals brake lights or hazard on 97 Blazer

did you check the bulbs and the fuses with a test light? If they are ok,try pressing the brake pedal, and wiggeling the 4-way flasher button at the same time....if the brake lights come on, it's in the 4-way flasher switch.

1997 Chev Blazer, turn signals and brake light won't operate. We have check the fuses and they're fine. What's next??

the directional switch could be faulty,,as it controls brake light function also...jently lift up on it and use it ,,also use brake ,,and have some one ckeck the rear,,the switch wares inside itself..
