its time for a oil change. to reset the light the odo has to be on current mileage not trip a or b. with the car off push in the stem for the odo and hold it and then turn on the key the numbers will disappear and return when they do you are reset. the light will come on again in 5000 miles.
mitsu has schedule maintainence at 3000 miles LOF 15000 miles 30000 miles 60000 miles and so on check owners manual for requirements at each interval give or take on the mileage 60k service is timing belt and plugs on most vehicles
There is not a lot due at 60,000 miles as far as regular maintenance. Depending on which engine you have, a timing belt replacement is due at 90,000 miles. (The 2.4L engine is chain-driven) Spark plug replacements are not due until 80,000 miles.
In the meantime, I would have the condition of the engine coolant checked. It should be checked for the freeze protection level as well as the acidity level. Chemical test strips are available at your local parts store for this purpose.
All fluids should be checked for proper levels inlcluding differentials and transfer cases if it is a 4X4. Check and fix any fluid leaks right away. Fluid leaks can lead to rapid deterioration of rubber mounts and hoses as well as damage wiring harnesses and computer sensors.
If the battery is original it should probably be replaced due to the age of the vehicle. If it is not original I would have it tested. Remember NOTHING works on your vehicle without the battery.
i would chande the plugs at or around 60,000 to 70,000 miles. this is about the correct mileage. they may last longer but not worth the expensence of converter damage due to misfire and also gas mileage loss.
theres no problem, its set to come on every7500 miles just to remind you to do the service, like oil changes etc, all you do is make sure mileage is showing in display, then turn key off, then push the button that shows the trip mileage hold that button in then turn key on but dont start truck make sure dash lights come on like when starting, okay continue to hold button may take 15 -25 seconds until you see maint light go off, done.hope this helps.
look at mileage. the replacement of the timing belt needs to be done at 60,000 miles. you risk severe damage if this is not done. these belts costs around $300-400 to do.
a major service is due at 60000 miles. the light is just a reminder that maintenance is due. is it the message on the nav screen or the one on the dash cluster? if you want to turn it of, hold the trip/od button in while turning the ignition on, keep your foot off the brake, dont start the car. you will see dashes flashing where the od shows miles, hold until its done flashing. and the lite on the dash cluster will go out. it will come back on after 5000 miles. you can go online to lexus.com to review what the services are and what they involve.
