You may need to take it to a shop or have someone replace the tensioner for you as that ca be the only reason as to why your belt came loose unless the belt snapped in which case you need to replace the belt good luck

Our serpentine belt slipped off in some snow, and we got home, and proceed to loosen the tension pully. Well the pully was all crouded and we needed to get a new, we got our part in and put it on as well...

There should be a belt routing diagram somewhere under the hood. It is easy to get this wrong, with the result that in your case the alternator was probably not charging, or the engine overheated. Reinstall belt correctly. If still lose, you got the wrong belt possibly. As for clicking, check battery cables and use jumpers if needed.

Changed a broken serpentine belt. all was fine, then car stopped and will not crank. Car started loosing all the power and then stopped.

If the belt is loose, it would slip and not provide enough power through the alternator to power the car. Check for excessive slack in the belt. It's common for new belts to develop some slack after initial use.

Wipers started going, battery light on, losing power, finally quit. Battery looks new. Alternator belt seems to be mighty loose? Could this be the problem.

Yes, I would see if the tensioner for the serpentine belt is providing enough tension on the belt to keep the alternator turning at idle. If not, this could very well be the source of the charging problem.

Squeaking noise in engine. not serpentine belt.

You might have a dry bearing in the alternator. I've had a squeaking noise from them.

I replaced the serpentine belt on my 2002 accura rsx type s it sqeaks and seems loose, is there any way to tighten it....tks

I don't Have a manual for this. But in most cases with A serpentine belt the belt trencher is automatic and could be Warren out other then that look see if a pulley bearing could be getting bad .it is also possible you got a defective belt Hope this helps.

My 1997 geo metro sqeals when started

this could be the serpentine belt at the front of the engine it could be warn and needs replacing, but this could also be the signe of a warn bearing ie idler bearing, waterpump bearing, alternator bearing, power stearing pump bearing, best to get it checked, as a belt is only a few bucks, where as the others could be allot more, should i say will be...hope this helps

Loud pop, timing belt ? , mitsubishi diamante 00

Very possible it was the timing belt. If the main serpentine belt seems loose, it also coould be your pulley. If you can check it now, the tensioner pulley is the one you see that is very silver looking on the side that actually supports the OUTSIDE of the belt. If you can go take a look at it now, grab ahold of it and try to move it. The only motion it should make is a spinning motion....this will be step one on figuring out the problem....will take one minute to verify.....
