The cam shaft sensor operates the speed and spark of the engine without it work properly the car will shake and will not run good. It will run rough and will hesitate and may even cause more damage if continued to operate in this state. Cam sensors are not expensive anyhow anywher from $50 to $150 good luck

Vibration on 2004 Cadillac Deville

If a hub bearing was bad, it almost always would make noise, more so when changing lanes at higher speed. Outer CV joints make a loud low pitched rattle when turning (corners). Inner CV joints raise hell at high speed- bad shake! Sway links affect cornering and clunk when hitting rough patches of road surface.
Is the vibration worse at 65 than at 50? If so, you are dealing with a wheel balance situation. Find an old time front end shop that will check the balance on the vehicle. You will have to turn off the traction control to do this or use an on-the-car wheel balancer.
If you feel it at some low speeds at it comes back at other higher speeds, then you are dealing with tire roundness. Possible more than 1. More common than we would like.

96 mercedes c220, rough idle was every once in a while but now more often. car vibrates really bad at idle and now slight vibration when driving. Any solutions?

hi this sounds like it might be the MAF sensor may be on its way out, just looking through my technical data the only thing that would make it run this bad would be the MAF, what you will have to do is disconnect the sensor and then see if it idles better, if so then you will need to get this changed out for new one...hope this helps

2003 Jetta TDI vibrates above 35 speed

With 180k I would change the engine mounts. They are about the only thing that would dampen engine vibration and noise (assuming that the engine is running ok). There is likely one or all weak or broken. Normally when you have a vibration at speed then it is going to be driveline or wheel balance.

Bad vibration from a stop. worse when you give it gas from a stop with a loud rumbling growl sound.vibration is really bad at lower speeds, going thru parking lots and turns.

Sounds like a bad wheel bearing to me. Jack up each corner of the car one at a time and grab the tire. Shake like crazy on it - if it moves, you've found a bad bearing. It should be solidly on the hub with no play whatsoever.

2000 VW Jetta TDI when starting vibrates (felt under the break pads) and a really rough sound when starting and turning the engine off. I have had people tell me that this could be due to timing...

It sounds like a diesel.. They vibrate like ****, it's just what diesel's do. . Otherwise I'd check engine mounts, if they are worn, then the engine could be sitting down on the frame of the car making you feel ALL of the vibrations.

My VW 01 T1.8 vibrates when i increase speed

It sounds like either bad plugs, wires, or timing. Also check for vacuum leaks. With the engine running, wiggle all your vacuum hoses around, and listen for a hissing. Also check intake manifold bolts for tightness. Coils could also be faulty. Fuel filter could be partly clogged.
