You will need to take the dashboard apart and then take all of the heating duct off. Unhook the 2 hoses to the engine cooling system in the engine bay. Then take the duct apart to take the heater core out . After all that just take everything back together. It,s a big job for sure!!!
The heater is NOT actuated by a fuse, the fan is. ]But if the fan blows, the electrical part is OK, then it must be the heater door that switches from the cold air to the hot one, or 2) the heater core is not receiving enough hot coolant.
1st you need to make sure no air in your system open you radaiator cap and your heater to max and see if air bubles or circulation is going on fill up accordingly otherwise you have blockage in your system or water pump if no circulation ////make sure no bubles all bubles should be gone////look for coolant circulation in your radiator make sure your thermostat is not defective or placed in the right position.
It sounds like you already removed the entire dashboard. Now the HVAC box will need to be removed if there isn't a separate opening for the heater core to be removed from. The HVAC box is bolted from inside the engine compartment and the passenger compartment. If you have A/C you will have to disconnect and discharge the a/c system. The coolant lines to the heater core will need to be disconnected as well.
Take my word for it, you don't want to fix it. Take it to your local radiator shop and have someone put a heater core in it for you. You will be way better off. I've done these before and it takes about 6- 8 hrs. The whole dash has to come out. The steering column has to be dropped. If I had one of those cars that needed a heater core, I would take it somewhere and have it done. Phil
