Question about 1998 Jaguar XJ8L

1 Answer

Creaky rear passenger side

I have the same problem. I have a 1998 Vanden Plas and if I hit a bump just right it will creak. I've checked it out multiple times even trying to simulate the conditions and still found nothing. It rides fine but the noise is just a nuisance. I would also like to find out what it is so I don't have to deal with it anymore. If I can't find it I'll have to take it in and then I'll let you know what it is.

Like all good English cars and Australian cars it is normal to get the same noise but mostly you will find its on the swinging movement and manily on the left hand side (in the gutter ) as they call it, and its a bush that only moves once in 50 bumps and its not the thing you can see but if you remove the l/h/s
rear suspension U will find it .... to do with speed and size of pot hole or bump in road.

I am getting a P0443 code on my 2002 Jaguar Vanden Plas. Simultaneously, when I try to fuel the tank, the pump keeps shutting off like the tank was full but there is only about 1/3 of a tank of gas in the...

The EVAP system purges any build up of vapours from the fuel tank and burns them thro the engine at pre-detemined times. This is done by means of the EVAp solenoid which when energised allows engine vacuum at one side to **** the vapours from the other side and pass them thro engine. Look for the black solenoid with two vacuum pipes and two wire plug on it. think you may be correct and have disturbed it when doing the air filter.

Clunk noise from front passenger side when

That noise sounds to me like a Ball Joint problem. I would check to see if you have fittings to grease the front suspention.

Good luck, Allen
