Your going to have to check online for that code and usually no matter what you can always drive a car with the check engine light on as long as the car feels fine.

Check engine light came on ,when wife didn't turn gas cap three clicks ,how do i get it to go out

It can take a while for that to go away, If it was not the gas cap then it wont go away, autozone could have cleared the code and it would have gone away. You can clear the code by removing the fuse for the ecm or unhooking the battery, otherwise it may take 3 to 7 starting cycles to reset.

Check engine light on

erase code again , then disconnect battery for a few minutes, reconnect, see if code comes back. hopefully this resets computer. you don\'t have a reset button on steering wheel do you ? replace your fuel filter, if you haven\'t lately. maybe that will help.

My sister ran just one tankful of E85 gas through her Santa Fe and there was an indicator light that came on. Will it go off once she runs some unleaded gas back through it or will she have to take it to a...

It could go off after running some unleaded gas such as a couple gallons of 'premium unleaded' through it. But you should also try to reset it. To do this follow these simple steps:

1. Write down the radio code of the car.
2. Disconnect the battery negative terminal for about twenty minutes. Then reconnect back the battery negative terminal.
3. The indicator light should be 'off'.

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe, check engine light just came on when turning on the heat control. What could be the causes? Heat is nice and hot, blower works great. Otherwise in excellent condition.

Hi, turning on the heater didn't cause the check engine light to come on, it just came on at the exact time. It does indicate something is going on, but if your auto is doing fine, don't panic.Usually, it indicates an emissions problem. Take you're vehicle to auto zone, and ask them if they will come out and read the code for you, they will do this for no charge, and it will tell you what the problem is. They will also give you a print out of most all the codes. I have done this several times until I bought my own obd-2 meter. After you have the code, just have them erase it with the meter to clear the check engine light. It may come back on again depending on what the problem is, but I would recommend you doing this. Cant beat it, no charge and friendly service.

''check engine light'' illuminated, 1004 Hyundai, Santa Fe

If you live in the US, take it to qany Auto Zone store and thy will read the codes off for you, I would suspect any right thinking competitor would do the same, check if you don't have one near by.

Hope this is of some help.

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe check engine light

I have a book for the Sante Fe, and that code is not in it. I would go back to them and have them re-run it. The person may have just misread the screen.
