Question about 1999 Volkswagen Passat
How do you fix abs brakes
If your having a abs check light on then you will need to have your system scanned with a abs code scanner, go to your vehicle dealer for this service , repairs can also be made there, remember it's brakes which are about safety so if you are unsure of your ability in this area don't risk it , it is not worth saving a buck for sacrificing saftey...

Testimonial: "Thank you but it is a 1999 that has 102k on it. I would fix rather than pay but if this is the best way to trouble shot the problem then maybe I shoul"
Thar is an easier way than paying 250.00 especially if you don't mind not having a.b.s. On my 99 vw passat my abs module went bad, my tac didn't work any more plus the abs & brake light was on and the annoying beeping. I spent 75.00 on a diagnostic at the vw dealer for them to tell me the module was bad. I agree completly on having a diagnostic done, because you never really know and just to be safe. Insted of paying 250 for a rebuild or 1200.00 for a new one, I studdied the wiring schematic and came to a conclusion. Thair is a way to trick the e.c.u. into thinking it is working properly. If anyone is interested in this quick solution you can e-mail me, I will send you photos and instructions. Its easy, for someone with a little mechanical skills and compleatly reversable (if you get the money for a rebuild or a new abs module. I will not charge anyone, Im just a regular Joe Schmo who lives pay check to pay check like everyone else. My e-mail address is email@example.com.

Check the sensor at each wheel for any blockage/grime first. I had this problem with my wife's 99 Passat, and sent my ABS module off to "ModuleMasters" (in Utah, I believe) to be rebuilt. Very easy to remove from the vehicle. Total cost was 250.00 and resolved the light problem.

It depends what's wrong with them
Is it a sensor or the module there are too many parts that can go wrong its not just one part you have 4 sensors 1 in at each tire and so on so on
